Richmond Centre Summer Concert Series Opens May 29 With The Faded Blue Band

RICHMOND, Ky. — Richmond Centre will open its 2026 Summer Concert Music Series on Friday, May 29, with an evening performance by The Faded Blue Band.

The series will run every Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. through Aug. 7 at Richmond Centre, located at 2139 Lantern Ridge Dr. in Richmond. The concerts are held near the central fountain area, which is the easiest landmark for parking and gathering.

The concerts are free, and visitors may want to bring lawn chairs or blankets since seating around the plaza can be limited. The series is presented in partnership with the Richmond Area Arts Council.

🎸 Opening Night with The Faded Blue Band

The May 29 opening night features The Faded Blue Band, kicking off a summer schedule of weekly Friday night concerts. The Friday evening format gives residents a regular end-of-week option for live music, shopping, dining, and time outdoors.

🎶 June Brings a Full Month of Local and Regional Music

After opening night, the Richmond Centre series continues with four June concerts.

  • Branch Water Kin performs June 5: The group has appeared around the Richmond music scene, including events at Madison Garden Bar & Grill and Chenault Vineyards. Public listings connect the band with local musicians Pam Perry and Derrick Isaacs, giving the June 5 concert a Madison County roots-music connection.
  • Bent Penny Bend Revival performs June 12: The Richmond-based group describes itself as a seven-piece band focused on bringing back timeless music with energy and stage presence. Berea Tourism previously described the band’s shows as interactive, with classic hits from the 1960s and 1970s, and noted that the group was voted Best Local Band in Richmond’s 2023 Best of the Best.
  • Three Men and a Banjo performs June 19: The Berea-based acoustic trio is made up of Randall Conn on banjo and vocals, Tyler Conn on mandolin, and Jeff Richey on upright bass. The group blends traditional bluegrass sounds with a jazz-influenced style, often described as Appalachian swing.
  • Boogie G & The Titanics performs June 26: The Lexington-based group is known as a dance and party band, making it a fitting choice for the larger community event tied to that week’s Taste of Richmond concert.

The June schedule gives the series a mix of roots music, classic favorites, acoustic bluegrass, and dance music, helping each Friday night feel different from the week before.

🎤 The Season Continues into August

The series continues after June with five more Friday night concerts. The July lineup includes The Dooley Gang on July 3, The Bob Stamper Band on July 10, The Lauren Mink Band on July 17, Rhythm Phoenix on July 24, and One More Round on July 31. The season closes Aug. 7 with Thick As Thieves.

🌙 A Summer-Long Friday Night Option

The Richmond Centre series gives Madison County residents a recurring Friday night option throughout the summer. The setup is simple: free live music, a familiar location, and a weekly schedule that can become part of a family or weekend routine.

Because the concerts run from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the series can pair naturally with dinner, shopping, or other Friday evening plans in Richmond.
