BEREA, Ky. — A weeklong soccer camp for young players is scheduled for June 1 through June 5 at Berea College Alumni Field.
Next Level Soccer Camp is open to girls and boys ages 8 to 17 and will focus on individual, technical, and tactical training for players who want to keep developing their skills. The camp will meet at Berea College Alumni Field on Scaffold Cane Road in Berea.
⚽ Evening Training Schedule
The camp runs Monday through Friday, with evening sessions designed to work around summer daytime schedules.
- Monday, June 1: Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m., with camp running from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 2 to Thursday, June 4: Sessions run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
- Friday, June 5: The final session runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with awards and individual player feedback scheduled from 7:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
🥅 Training Focus
The camp is designed for players who are serious about improving their game. Training areas include first touch, dribbling, attacking moves, passing, receiving, maintaining possession, and small-group and large-group competition. The camp also includes new goalie-specific training.
Enrollment is limited to 50 players, which keeps the camp from becoming too large and gives participants more direct training time.
👤 Coach Weiss
The camp is led by Hezekiah Weiss, who has coached with Madison Youth Soccer and previously served as head coach at Berea Community High School. Weiss played at Lindsey Wilson College, where his team won two NAIA National Soccer Championships.
The event listing notes that players will train with experienced coaches who have earned athletic scholarships and competed at the collegiate and semi-professional levels.
