MADISON COUNTY — Caya McKenzie-Jean Davis, 8, daughter of Jeffrey and Chellee Davis of Richmond, died Sunday at the University of Kentucky Childrens Hospital. Caya attended Daniel Boone Elementary in Richmond. She enjoyed attending Crossroads Christian Church.

BEREA — Mary R. “Becky” Davis Carrier ,age 55, of Calico Road, Berea, passed away Monday May 7, 2012, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
Becky was born in Fayette County to William Robert and Ester Louise Thomas Davis. She was a former nurse’s aid for Berea Hospital and Berea Health Care Center.
She is survived by her parents; her two sons, Chris (Jessie) McMillan of Berea and Charlie (Angie) Harvey of Nicholasville; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Annie, Lucas, Katherine, Shannon, Charles Thomas and Gabriel. Seven siblings, Harold Lee (Brenda) Davis, Robert Lee Davis, James Michael (Anola) Davis, Charles Edwin (Patsy) Davis, Patricia Ann (Junior) Stamper and Tammy Louise (Junior) Damrell also survive.
The Berea Arts Council’s Garden Tour is May 12th and we have got exciting plans!
We are very privileged to welcome Jon Carloftis this year, a Kentucky native who has achieved celebrity status through his award-winning landscape design work. On the day of the tour, he will be at Berea Tourisms Welcome Center in Old Town to talk about the gardens he has designed for the newly renovated L&N Depot Welcome Center.
The next Berea economic development public meeting will be Thursday May 10th at 6:00pm at Berea Baptist Church. Michael Shuman will be returning to present his final report and recommendations for the small groups. Each group will be able to meet individually with Mr. Shuman to receive specific recommendations and ask him questions.
RICHMOND — James B. Dozier Sr., 77, widower of Edith Faye Williams Dozier, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea.
Mr. Dozier was born May 6, 1934, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Farley and Ada Clay Thomas Dozier. He was a former employee of the City of Richmond and Square D Electrical Company. He was a UK Fan and enjoyed clogging.

Marguerite Ellen Del Vecchio, 96, of Arcadian Cove, Richmond, and formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012. She was born Nov. 18, 1915, in Russell, a daughter of the late Charles Burdette and Lake Rowe Henzman. She was the widow of Andrew Del Vecchio.
