Students from eight more Kentucky schools are taking field trips to a Kentucky State Park thanks to a transportation grant from the Kentucky State Parks Foundation.
The KSPF’s “Inside Out Education” initiative allows schools to seek the grants that enable students to learn about the environment, history or culture at a Kentucky State Park.
“These trips provide excellent learning opportunities for these students,” Parks Commissioner Donnie Holland said. “They also bring young people to our state parks so they can experience our history and natural environment.”
School will begin as planned on Wednesday, Aug. 12, for ALL Madison County schools OTHER THAN DANIEL BOONE ELEMENTARY. Students attending Daniel Boone Elementary will begin their year on Monday, Aug. 17. This delay for Daniel Boone Elementary will not affect bus routes or the district’s school year calendar. Children living in the Daniel Boone district but attending middle school or Madison Kindergarten Academy will start school on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
