Stolen Vehicle/Leaving Scene Arrest: On 04/30/2015, police charged Dwight Rose, age 36, Altamont Street, for his involvement in a crash involving a stolen vehicle.
On 01/09/2015, at approximately 11:00 P.M., officers were dispatched to a single vehicle injury accident in the 200 block of Tates Creek Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed a Hyundai sedan resting in the creek bed alongside the roadway. The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is reporting the following activity for the month of April, 2015.
Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2,231 citations, which included 152 for speeding, 13 for no child restraint and 181 for no seatbelts. There were 45 people arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Troopers issued 402 courtesy notices, assisted 55 stranded motorists, and investigated 58 traffic collisions while inspecting 1,993 vehicles. The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, which provides coverage for Madison, Clark, Estill, Lee, Owsley, Jackson, Mercer, Boyle, Lincoln, Garrard and Jessamine counties, will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints at locations approved by the Kentucky State Police Policy and Procedures Manual. These checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Special attention will be paid to occupant protection (seatbelt adherence), sobriety, insurance, and registration violations.

On May 1st, 2015 at approximately 5:50PM, Officers with the Kentucky State Police responded to a vehicle collision located on KY90, about 3 ½ miles east of Monticello in Wayne County.
At this time, Officers are reconstructing a two vehicle collision in which a passenger car and pickup truck have collided. 3 adults and 3 children are dead at the scene and 2 adults have been transported to the hospital for medical care.
Drug Trafficking Arrest: On 04/29/2015, police charged Kelly Tribble (female), age 33, Sizemore Drive, for drug trafficking offenses following a covert investigation.
In October 2013, the RPD Narcotics Unit purchased a number of oxycodone pills from Tribble on three separate occasions during a covert investigation. On 07/21/2014, a warrant was issued for Tribble’s arrest after she was indicted for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, one count. The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that killed one man in Lincoln County this morning. The collision occurred on Highway 27, south of Stanford just before 2:00 a.m. EDT.
The initial investigation indicates that a 2001 Red Pontiac passenger vehicle was slowed or stopped in the left lane of the southbound lanes, and was struck by a 2004 Silver Pontiac passenger vehicle that was also traveling south. The impact of the collision pushed the 2001 Pontiac off the roadway, where it overturned and caught on fire.
Criminal Mischief Arrests: On 04/28/2015 Officers were dispatched to several residences in the area of Kara Drive, Jason Circle, and Edgar Drive in reference to vehicle damage. Several cars in the area were egged and shot with a BB gun causing damage that totaled approximately $2,500.00. An investigation revealed that two subjects purchased the eggs and BB gun at Walmart, and they were captured on security video. They were both then identified and later interviewed where they admitted that they caused the damage to the vehicles.
On 04/29/2015 Officers arrested 20 year old Tyler Kirby of Berea KY and 20 year old Eric Brainard of Berea KY. They were both charged with Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.
Shoplifting Arrest: On 04/23/2015 Officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Store employees observed the subject conceal items in his pockets before attempting to leave the store. The merchandise was valued at $63.74.
Officers arrested 38 year old Terry Anglin and charged him with Theft By Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.
The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post in investigating a fire that was reported just after 7:00 p.m. EDT, on Saturday, April 25, 2015. The fire burned a residence at 1495 Highway 89, just north of McKee. The initial investigation has revealed that the burned structure did not have any electrical service at the time of the fire.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police, Post 7 at 859-623-2404 or the Arson Task Force at 1-800-27ARSON (1-800-272-7766). The Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for starting the fire.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Arson Investigator Pat Alford.

Fire hydrants will be opened for flushing of the water mains to enhance the water quality in the distribution system. The flushing will begin on Big Hill Road at our Water Treatment Plant starting Monday, April 27, 2015. The flushing will be done between 8:00am and 4:00pm. This process will continue in a different section of Berea each day until the whole system has been flushed.
Flushing of the water mains may cause a slight reduction in your water pressure and some discoloration of the water. To check to see if the water is discolored, you should turn on a cold water faucet and let the water run until clear. Please check for discolored water before washing clothes or operating a dish washer. The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called at approximately 6:30 p.m. EDT, on Saturday, April 25, 2015, in reference to a possible fatal fire on Danville Road in Mercer County. The initial investigation revealed that a meth lab and two people were found deceased inside the burned structure. The cause of the fire and the causes of death are both under investigation.
Detectives from Post 11 are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains located on the bank of the Roundstone Creek in Rockcastle County. Post 11 Detectives were notified of the discovery on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 12:08 AM.
Preliminary investigation reveals the remains appeared to have been in that location for several years.
Wanton Endangerment/Theft Charges: On 04/21/2015, police charged Devon S. Johnson, age 22, Brooklyn Boulevard, Berea, in connection with the theft of a handgun from a vehicle.
At approximately 11:30 P.M., officers were dispatched to the area of Merrick Drive to investigate a report that a male was unlawfully entering parked vehicles in the area. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a resident who reported that a .380 caliber handgun had been taken from his vehicle. Wanton Endangerment/Assault Charges: On 04/16/2015, police charged Gary F. Rodgers, age 49, McKee, KY, for assaulting his wife while she was driving.
At approximately 10:00 P.M., officers were dispatched to the Kroger parking lot in Richmond Plaza in response to a reported domestic assault in progress.
