The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an injury accident involving a pedestrian.

The sheriff’s office received an injury accident call on 03-16-2015 at approximately 11:58 p.m. in the area of Big Hill Road and Highway 21 West near Honeysuckle Court.

Forgery Charge: On 03/11/2015, police charged Shane D. Vance, age 35, Charlie Norris Road, in conection with passing of a stolen and forged check.

On 03/06/2015, police were dispatched to a local Richmond bank in response to a report that Vance had attempted to cash a check at the bank drawn on the account of another party. During the transaction, the teller became suspicious and contacted the account holder who reported that she did not write the check. KSP Post 11 Receives Five Additional Troopers

Kentucky State Police Post 11, London is pleased to welcome 5 additional troopers to the area. The five, all agency veterans, have been reassigned to the London Post as of March 16th.

Troopers Combs and Roberts will be assigned to Clay County. Trooper Reams will be assigned to Laurel County. Trooper Brittle will be assigned to McCreary County. Trooper Royal will be assigned to Rockcastle County. Assignments are made based on manpower and calls for assistance needs. The assignment of these additional troopers increases KSP Post 11’s strength to 55 serving the (7) counties of Clay, Laurel, Rockcastle, Whitley, Pulaski, McCreary, and Wayne.

Burke Jevon Rhoads

Burke Jevon Rhoads, 35, husband of Melissa Suzanne Mason Rhoads, of Sugar Creek Pike, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident while on duty as a officer with the Nicholasville Police Department. He was born July 2, 1979 in West Branch, Iowa, the son of Carolyn Ann Walker and Mark Edward Rhoads.

Burke was a member of St. Raphael Episcopal Church, NPD Honor Guard, a Field Training Officer, Bike Patrol, a Army Veteran and a Nicholasville Police Officer.

In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by three children, Jacquelyn, Bryan and Kevin Rhoads and three sisters, Tera Denial, Tristi Ellis and Miki Brockett.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00PM Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Southland Christian Church with Rev. Johnny Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00AM until 1:00PM and 3:00PM until 8:00PM at Southland Christian Church.

Nicholasville Police Department will serve as Bearers and do honors at the cemetery.

KSP Investigates Case of Illegally Cashed Checks in Madison and Rockcastle Co.

The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is asking for help identifying a suspect that illegally cashed stolen checks in Madison and Rockcastle County on January 5, 2015.

The initial investigation indicates that the person seen in the surveillance footage cashed three checks that were originally written and mailed to businesses in Madison County. On Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at approximately 7:37 a.m. EDT, the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post received a report of a traffic collision involving a Nicholasville Police vehicle and two other vehicles in Garrard County. The collision happened just after 7:00 a.m. on Highway 27 in Garrard County, just south of the Jessamine County line.

The initial investigation indicates Officer Burke Rhoads, 35 years old of Nicholasville, was traveling south on HWY 27 in his issued Nicholasville Police cruiser. A White 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, operated by Chasity Gordon, 41 years old of Lancaster, turned left off of HWY 1845, colliding with Rhoads’ vehicle, causing Rhoads to lose control. Wanted by Richmond Police and Lexington Police: This photo is of Jim Bradley Rhorer , DOB 08/04/1982 age 32. This subject has been Shoplifting from Walmart and Meijers.

On 03/09/2015 he stole an I-Pad from the display in Electronics, a Cell phone , a Stanley Fat max Knife, a Bluetooth Speaker, and a Marvel Watch, valued over $300.00.

Mr. Rhorer has been seen in a Chev S-10 Blazer and with the other subject in this photo. We would like to know his name also.

On Monday, March 09, 2015 at approximately 6:15 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a call for assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on a possible barricade / hostage situation at a residence on KY HWY 834 in Wayne County.

Upon arrival, Troopers learned Theresa A. Williams, 47, of Bronston, KY was inside the residence and alleging that she had her husband held hostage.

Drug Arrests: On 03/07/2015 Officers were called to Speedway in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. They located one subject sitting in the vehicle and one subject in the store, and both had slurred speech and appeared to be under the influence. Inside of the vehicle they located Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and several different pills. They also located rolling papers and needles.
