BEREA, Ky. — If you missed the Berea College Planetarium’s recent presentations of Solar Superstorms, do not worry. Another journey into space is right around the corner.
The Planetarium’s next featured show is From Earth to the Universe, scheduled for Friday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 5 at 4:00 p.m. at the Margaret A. Cargill Natural Sciences and Health Building, located at 271 N. Main Street in Berea. Public listings describe the show as an exploration of humanity’s long fascination with the night sky, moving from ancient stories and wonder to our modern efforts to better understand the universe.
✨ A Timeless Perspective
That makes it a natural follow-up to Solar Superstorms, which wrapped up its local run at the end of March. That earlier show focused heavily on the dramatic, explosive power of the sun, including high-velocity jets, massive solar waves, and other extreme solar activity.
From Earth to the Universe, however, sounds a little broader and a little more timeless. Instead of focusing on the mechanics of a single star, it turns the audience’s attention to the larger story of the cosmos and to the age-old human habit of simply looking up and asking questions. In a town like Berea, where learning and curiosity are so deeply woven into the local culture, that feels like a perfect fit.
🗓️ Planning Your Visit
The Berea College Planetarium hosts regular community shows on Fridays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 4:00 p.m. Admission is highly accessible, with public listings pricing tickets at just $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Whether you are taking a child who loves space, planning a low-key evening out, or just looking for something a little different to do in Berea, From Earth to the Universe offers a chance to step away from the everyday and spend an hour thinking a little bigger. And sometimes, that is exactly the kind of outing a weekend needs.
