RICHMOND, Ky. — Madison County pet owners will have a drive-thru option for vaccines and microchipping on Saturday, May 30.
The Spring 2026 Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Madison Middle School, located at 1151 Goggins Lane in Richmond. The clinic is a collaboration between the Madison County Health Department and the Madison County Animal Shelter.
💉 Services and Pricing
The clinic will offer several basic pet health services. The pricing structure is set as follows:
- Annual Pet Vaccinations: Free of charge
- Rabies Vaccines: $10
- Bordetella Vaccines: $40
- Microchipping: $26.50
The event is cash only, and exact change is preferred. The county notes that extra change may be explicitly donated to the Madison County Animal Shelter to support its ongoing shelter operations and rescue work.
🐾 Safety Rules for the Drive-Thru
Because this is a high-volume drive-thru clinic, pet owners should be prepared before arriving in line.
Dogs, cats, and ferrets must be on a leash or safely contained in a carrier while at the clinic footprint. This rule is strictly enforced to keep pets, owners, volunteers, and clinic staff safe while vehicles move through the processing lanes.
Pet owners should also plan for possible wait times, especially if vehicle traffic is heavy during the morning or midday hours.
🌧️ Rain or Shine
The clinic is scheduled to take place regardless of weather conditions.
The drive-thru format allows pet owners to access basic preventive veterinary care without ever leaving their vehicles, which can significantly lessen stress for pets that are typically nervous around large crowds or unfamiliar animals.
