Berea Police Report 8/27/2019

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 8/24/19 an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed around a curve at Prince Royal Drive and Jefferson Street.

A traffic stop was conducted and upon contact the officer could detect the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the vehicle. Field sobriety tests were conducted on the driver.

Gregory Smith, 29, of Lexington was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Careless Driving, and Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container.

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 8/23/19 officers with the Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop on a moped that resulted in the discovery of 3 Hydrocodone tablets, 19 Alprazolam tablets, and a syringe. The controlled substances were found on the operator’s person.

Officers arrested Glenn Partin, 44, of Berea and charged him with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st / 3rd degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 8/22/19 officers with the Street Crimes Unit made contact with a female subject on Chestnut Street. Officers discovered that the female had a warrant for her arrest. A search incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of 28 Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets.

Officers arrested Petra Clark, 32, of Lexington and charged her with Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree while serving the warrant for Failure to Appear.

ARRESTED

Public Intoxication: On 8/21/19 officers responded to Richmond Road in reference to a male subject who was possibly intoxicated and creating a disturbance. Customers from Dairy Queen, Sonic, and McDonalds advised that the male subject was intoxicated and digging through trash.

Officers made contact with the male subject and determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of his person resulted in the discovery of an empty syringe.

Officers arrested Joshua Newby, 36, of Berea and charged him with Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.

ARRESTED

Alcohol Intoxication: On 8/21/19 officers responded to Jefferson Street in reference to a possible domestic disturbance. Upon arrival officers made contact with a male subject outside. It was determined that no physical altercation had taken place, however the subject had the odor of alcohol coming from his person, had slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes.

Officers arrested William Pigg, 47, of Berea and charged him with Alcohol Intoxication.

ARRESTED

Public Intoxication: On 8/21/19 officers responded to Lewis Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers were advised that a male subject had entered a neighbor’s residence, was screaming, and beating on the front door. When officers made contact with the subject they determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Officers charged Elijah Lunsford, 33, of Berea with Public Intoxication, Trespassing 3rd degree, and Disorderly Conduct.

ARRESTED

Public Intoxication: On 8/20/19 officers responded to Walmart in reference to a female slumped over the wheel of her vehicle. Upon contact with the female she was observed to have slurred speech and an inability to stay awake. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia.

Katherine Dobbs-Dawson, 53, of Mount Vernon was charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

ARRESTED

Public Intoxication: On 8/20/19 officers responded to Short Line Pike in reference to a male subject hiding on the callers back porch saying that someone was trying to kill him. Officers made contact with the male subject and he asked to hide behind their police car. The subject admitted to having used methamphetamine.

Officers arrested Jordan Blasdell, 31, of Richmond and charged him with Public Intoxication.

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 8/20/19 officers were called to Glades Road in reference to a drug complaint. Upon arrival officers made contact with a female subject sitting in a vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Officers charged Jeana Spry, 47, of Berea with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
