The Berea Fire Department conducted several training sessions in June, in addition to 61 public service calls.
Firefighters completed a 40-hour High Angle Rope Technician class taught by State Fire & Rescue. The department also had two classes taught in-house using ropes, and hose nozzles and appliances training for volunteers.
Additionally, the department taught two classes in the community, including instruction at Kentucky Steel and Berea Health Care. First Christian Church and Grow and Learn daycare visited Station 1 for a tour and to learn about fire safety.
The Berea Fire Department completed 90 building inspections in June, and service calls for the month included:

Takeaways: Some call categories were down from May, including fires and motor vehicle accidents, but BFD assists of police or other intergovernmental agencies were up. False alarms or false calls were slightly down from last month.
