Berea Police Department public service statistics for April 2019

The Berea Police Department responded to 1248 calls for service in the month of April. Additionally, three officers completed 40 hours of training at the Department of Criminal Justice Training during that period. The BPD welcomed Berea Community Elementary School students for a tour of the police station, and officers represented the department at the Central Kentucky Job Fair. K9 Officer Jeff Harness and Parko were at the annual Easter Egg Hunt event.

Total crimes: 47

Total vehicle collision responses: 39

Total citations: 176

Total courtesy calls: 16

Total call response (non-emergency minor incident): 43

Total JC3 (domestic incident/abuse): 10

Total crisis (mental health related incident): 1

Takeaways: Crimes were up from the previous month, as were domestic incidents/abuse calls, while mental health incidents were down for the month by one.
