Berea Police Report Apr. 17, 2019

ARRESTED

Fugitive from Another State: On 04/16/2019 officers were called to McDonald’s in reference to a suspicious person in the parking lot. The subject was located, and the officer recognized the subject and attempted to detain him because of an outstanding arrest warrant. The officer attempted to detain the subject, but he pulled away and attempted to run. He was stopped by another responding officer. He was placed under arrest and it was discovered that he had an active warrant out of Ohio. A female subject that was with him was also placed under arrest for outstanding warrants.

Officers arrested 58 year old Linville Hall of Berea KY and 27 year old Desarae Thacker of Berea KY.

Hall was charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot) and Resisting Arrest. When the two were transported to the Madison County Detention Center, several pills and a powdery substance were located on Thacker’s person. She was charged with Promoting Contraband 1st Degree in addition to her warrants.

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrest: On 04/10/2019 officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Store employees observed the subject conceal merchandise before attempting to leave the store.

Officers arrested 31 year old Kristen Cates of Berea KY and charged her with Theft By Unlawful Taking (Shoplifting).

ARRESTED

Fleeing or Evading Police: On 04/12/2019 an officer observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle fled down Short Line Pike and eventually wrecked on Johnson Road. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot but was apprehended after a short chase. The subject dropped a small baggy of suspected Methamphetamine when he was taken into custody. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Officers arrested 37 year old Joshua Agee of Louisville KY and charged him with several traffic violations as well as the following:

-Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
-Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (On Foot)
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 04/12/2019 a traffic stop was conducted on Walnut Meadow Road for a red light violation. The vehicle was also swerving and almost struck another car before it was stopped. There was a strong smell of alcohol in the car and the driver had slurred speech. He also showed several other signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest.

Officers charged 35 year old Fred Young of Irvine KY with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense, Possession of Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle, as well as some other traffic offenses.
