Crews from Berea Municipal Utilities (BMU) restored power to about 325 customers Sunday after high winds caused power outages around town.
BMU Director Kevin Howard said calls about outages started coming in at about 10 a.m., affecting Gabbardtown, Scaffold Cane, Leslie Drive, Bridge Avenue, Fentress Lane, Hillside Drive, and Pinnacle View. Many of the outages were caused by tree limbs falling onto power lines.
About five BMU linemen were dispatched to fix the powerlines while one tech stayed in the office to field customer calls. Service to all customers was fully restored by about 6 p.m., Howard said.
