Jury Scam

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has been receiving an abundance of calls in regards to a jury scam.

Jury Scam happens when person(s) posing as officers from a court, claim that the person did not show up for jury duty and that charges will be pressed.

The calls received indicate they are being made from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. A foreign man states the person has missed jury duty and if payment is not made he or she is risking criminal action. The caller asks for payment to be made in the form of a prepaid card.

These calls are a scam. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office will never contact you asking for payment in reference to jury duty. Do not send any form of payment, hang up immediately and report the scam to the website listed below.
