Berea Police Department public service statistics for February 2019

The Berea Police Department responded to 1,974 service calls during February 2019, in addition to conducting a community outreach event, and training and recertification for officers.

The first Coffee with a Cop event was attended by 25 citizens, and another event is planned for the near future.

Meanwhile, several officers attended their Breath Test Recertification sessions and the department also conducted its yearly Taser Recertification.

Other activity for the month of February was as follows:

Total crimes: 18

Vehicle collisions reported: 33

Citations: 146

Courtesy calls: 33

Total call response (non-emergency, minor incident): 52

JC3 (domestic incident/abuse): 5

Crisis calls (mental illness-related): 1

Takeaways: Total crimes, vehicle collisions, and citations were all down from the previous month. Total call response was up from January, and JC3 calls edged up by three reported incidents over last month.
