Berea Fire Department public service statistics for February 201

In February, the Berea Fire Department focused on training whenever fire fighters weren’t responding to calls. The department invited State Fire Marshal Tim Juett to teach a class, Fire Inspector I, which covers fire code and life safety code. A-Shift attended a pipeline educational class at Boone Tavern Hotel, learning about the gas lines that run through our area. Personnel also received in-house training in advancing hose lines, victim search & rescue, air consumption and vehicle extrication equipment formularization. Charlie Russell, a Devon Mason, completed IFSAC Officer I class consisting of 40 hours of administration training. In addition, the department completed 87 building pre-plan inspections.

February’s emergency calls included:

Fires: 4

Rescue & Emergency Medical Service: 16

Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries: 4

Motor Vehicle Accident No Injuries: 7

Severe Weather Call: 2

Hazardous Condition (no fire): 4

Service Call: 5

False Alarm & False Call: 17

Swift Water Rescue: 3
