The Madison County Drug Task Force arrested a wanted felon from Chicago, IL, this morning in Richmond, KY.
The initial investigation began when an anonymous tip was placed through the AHIDTA tip line (1-833-KYDRUGS) indicating that Marshawn Thomas, was wanted in Chicago and is currently living in Richmond. The tip also alleged that Thomas recently opened a sandwich shop within the city limits and is residing in the area using the alias name of DeJuan Mack.
Marshawn Thomas, 40 years old of Chicago, IL, was arrested without incident by Madison County Drug Task Force Detectives just before 9:00 am today near his Richmond business, ‘Tela’s Kentucky Sandwich Shack’. He is lodged in the Madison County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Chicago for charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Armed Robbery and Possession of Cannabis over 30 grams. Thomas is also charged with Theft of Identity as a result of assuming someone else’sCounty and birthdate.
The Madison Count Drug Task Force is a multi-agency unit consisting of narcotics detectives from the Kentucky State Police, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Richmond City Police Department, and the Berea City Police Department.
