Christmas drive a success: Berea Fire Department public service statistics for 2018

December marked the end of a busy 2018 for the Berea Fire Department, including a successful toy drive for the Berea Fireman’s Christmas Fund. The department’s Christmas outreach touched the lives of 59 local children, and Berea Fire Department Chief Shawn Sandlin expressed his thanks for the community’s support. “We had several businesses donate gifts, money, grants from Berea Walmart, and Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirt sales and our pop machines located in city buildings helped make it possible,” Sandlin said. “The support we got from this community is amazing! Thank you, Berea residents!”

In December, the Berea Fire Department made 66 runs, including:

14 vehicle accidents;
6 storm-related runs;
13 assists of other agencies.
In total, the Berea Fire Department’s 2018 public service statistics were as follows:
