Bernice S. Turner, age 72, of Red Lick, passed away January 12, 2019.

Bernice was retired from the Madison County School System after 28 years of service as a bus driver and cook. As a child, she attended Owsley Fork Baptist Church and also some churches of the Holiness faith. Bernice was a very hard worker who loved her family, gardening and tending to neighboring families. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Ermon E. Turner Jr., sons, Jimmy (Kim) Turner, Mitchell Turner; daughter Rebecca Mays; sisters, Beulah (Bobby) Ball, Idona Turner, Jenetta (Jimmie) Lamb, and Linda (Rip) VanWinkle; grandchildren, Jarred Turner, Cloya Brooke Norton, Cody Turner, Nieca Mays, and Dustin Eldridge; 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Boyd and Ada Stewart, sisters, Mary Ruth Lewis, Katherine Fischer; brother Lloyd Stewart Jr., brother in law Denson Turner, and sister in law Ethel Northern.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 11 AM, at Lakes Funeral Home Berea with Bro. Charlie Wilson and Bro. Charles Whitamore officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.

Pallbearers will be Jarred Turner, Eric Turner, Steve Lamb, Mark Centers, Steve Ball, Chris Mason. Honorary Pallbearers, Dustin Eldridge, Cody Turner, Beaulah Ball, Jenetta Lamb, Linda VanWinkle, Idona Turner.
