Our family of four found itself temporarily stranded by a flat tire on the side of the road in Berea Thanksgiving afternoon. Over the course of a couple of hours, we experienced the kindness of strangers: a couple offering a ride, the staff at the Boone Tavern, an Uber driver, a helpful police officer, and a stranger who stopped and changed the tire in a matter of minutes and would not accept even a small payment for his help.
We are so grateful for the multiple offers of help and wanted to say a heartfelt “thank you” to these individuals and to the community that they are part of.
It was not the Thanksgiving Day that we planned, but the experience reminded us that kindness is alive and well in our world, and that is something we are truly thankful for.
