Diana Lynn Wylie Jones, 65, wife of Wallace Jones, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Saint Joseph Berea. She was born October 26, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio to the late James A. and Elsie Mae Howard Wylie.
Mrs. Jones was a hairdresser for many years at Jean’s Beauty Shop. She was a wonderful cook, loved spending time with her family and an avid fan of foreign films. She attended First Christian Church of Berea.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Ray Powell; her son, Daniel Ray Powell; and her sister-in-law, Elena A. Wylie.
She also is survived by one brother, Mike Wylie; her “kids,” two nephews, Brian A. Wylie and Bill Wylie, and one niece Crystal Diana Wylie; her step-children who she considered her own, John Powell, Keith Powell, Scott Luster, Shevana Kersey and her husband, William; four step-grandchildren, John Anthony Powell, Alex Kersey, Austin Kersey, and Josh Luster; and a great nephew, Ryker Wylie, and great niece Maizy Dunaway, who called her “Granny D”. Her beloved dogs, Danny, Lola, Kendall, and Charlotte, and the many strays she has rescued, will miss her terribly.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Caldwell-Reiss officiating. Burial will follow in the Cartersville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service.
