ROLLING THUNDER KY 5 HOSTS A HISTORIC GATHERING OF 16 KENTUCKY VIETNAM POW*MIA FAMILIES

On Saturday, November 3th, Rolling Thunder Ky 5 will participate in the Salute to Veterans at the University of Kentucky football game with a historic gathering of 16 Kentucky Vietnam POW*MIA (Prisoner of War and Missing in Action) families. These families from all over the country will be arriving in Lexington on Friday November 2 to share their experiences for the first time with each other. These families are still living with the loss of their loved one every day for the last 50 years.

“It is all about the ones we left behind…that is who we remember. We are honored that we have the opportunity to bring these families together and bring awareness to the public so they know we will never forget the sacrifice. .” –Todd Matonich, Rolling Thunder KY 5 Board Member, United State Navy Veteran.

On Saturday, November 3rd, Rolling Thunder KY 5 will dedicate four (4) POW*MIA Chairs of Honor to be stationed in all four corners of Kroger Field. These unoccupied chairs will symbolize there will always be a place in this stadium awaiting their return.

We encourage the public to join us in remembering and honoring these families. The major function of Rolling Thunder, Inc. is to publicize and create awareness of the POW*MIA issue. For further information about Rolling Thunder, KY 5 and its mission, please go to www.rollingthunderky5.org.
