Beulah Combs Randall, age 81, wife of 60yrs to Cleamon Randall died Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. She was born December 25, 1936 to the late Andy and Mattie Brewer Combs.
She loved caring for her home and family, loved to quilt and work jig saw puzzles. Mrs. Randall was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Sue Randall, and her siblings, Elmer Combs, Leila Combs Bond, Palmer Combs, Edward Combs, Pearl Combs Reece, Lorraine Combs Farmer, and Clyde Combs.
Survivors include her husband, Cleamon Randall, her sons, Jeff and his wife Ann of Richmond, KY., and Brian Randall of Berea, KY. Two grandchildren, Paisley Renner and Nicholas Randall and one great grandchild, Bryleigh Johnson.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday October 11, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Kays officiating. Burial will follow in the Whetstone Cemetery in Pulaski County. Her Nephews will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation will be 11:00am until service time at the church. Davis & Powell Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Robert Daniel Terry
Robert Daniel Terry, age 57, died Thursday October 11, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Mr. terry was born February 20, 1961 in Dayton OH., to the late Robert Barnett and Velma Combs Terry.
He was an accomplished Florist and loved to play the piano and sing. Mr. Terry attended Athol Community Church of God.
Mr. Terry is survived by his wife, Juliet Terry, by two sisters, Amy Salmon and her husband Carl of Liberty, Ky., Rebecca Hockett of Warren, OH., mother-in-law Teddy Spicer of Irvine, Ky., and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday October 15, 2018 at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hatton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Ky. Visitation will be 6-9pm Sunday October 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
Johnnie Ruth Robinson
Johnnie Ruth Robinson age 87, widow of Robert Robinson, died Wednesday Oct. 10, 2018 in Danville, KY. Johnnie was born in Lawrenceburg TN to the late Richard and Mamie Lambert Dotson.
She was a member of the Baptist Faith and Order of the Eastern Star, she loved to work in the garden and be outside where she loved to go fishing and she enjoyed playing the piano and being with her pets.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her siblings: Charles Ward Dotson, Arthur Neal Dotson, Ezmarea Dotson Reeves, Richard Harvey Dotson Jr., and Ramona Dotson Caveness, and her son Robert Neal Robinson.
Johnnie Ruth is survived by her children: Gary (Donna) Robinson, and Sandra (Norman) Blowers, and her grandchildren: Robert Mark Robinson, Matthew Kent Robinson, Rachel Blowers (Isaiah) Watson, Adam Cole (Elisa) Blowers, Gary Alexander Robinson, Jacob Pierce Robinson, Isaac Crittenden Robinson, and great grandchildren: Caitlin Danielle Robinson, Azrael Trynt Robinson, Aralyn Talice Robinson, Harrison Jack Watson, Vivian Evelyn Watson, Cole Porter Blowers.
A private family graveside service was held on Friday at Berea Cemetery.

Randall “Randy” Johnson age 49 of Berea, passed away Monday, October 9, 2018. Randy was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Russell Johnson and Dollie Ritchie Johnson.
He was a chaplain for Lee Adjustment Center and Pastor at Wallaceton Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and David Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Spurlock Johnson; two daughters, Bekah (Matthew) Johnson and Abby Johnson; one sister Deb (Jim) Ashcraft; two brothers, Rick (Sheri) Johnson and Doug (Angel) Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
Funeral services will be 11am, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Lakes Funeral Home Berea with Dr. Dennis Brewer, Pastor Jim Ashcraft and Pastor Jimmy Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.

John Michael Botkins
John Michael Botkins, age 72, of Berea, passed away at his home on Monday, October 8, 2018. He was born in Hamilton County, Ohio to the late Andrew Botkins Sr. and Margaret Murphy Botkins.
He was a retired truck driver for Blue Grass Army Depot and a member of the Pentecostal faith. He was a US Army veteran, a past Commander of the American Legion, and a member of the Kingston Masonic Lodge F&AM #315.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Roger Wayne Botkins.
He is survived by his wife Cora Jean Lakes Botkins, one son, Michael Dwayne Botkins, one daughter, Janie Winkler, and step-daughter, Karen Fritts; one brother, Andrew “Junie” Botkins; two sisters, Barbara Young and Treva Saylor; one very special granddaughter, Justice Botkins; three grandchildren, Dustin, Derek, and Courtney Winkler.

Dorothy “Dot” Gabbard, 76, of Berea died Friday, October 12, 2018 at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation Center following an illness. She was a life-long resident of the Berea area born November 16, 1941, daughter of the late Raymond Gabbard and Ruth Pigg Gabbard Madden.
She was a retired child care worker and member of First Faith Independent Church. Dot was an accomplished cook who liked the outdoors also, especially birds and bird watching, and her flowers. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include 5 children, Marie (Jerry) Causey, Barbara McCollum, Brenda (Darren) Slone, Bonnie Robinson, Wayne (Misty) Casteel; 13 grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea, Heather, Jacob, Shayna, Sarah, Tony, Brent, Chris, Jordan, Haley, Malyah, Jaden; 13 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Kasen, Olivia, Carmen, Cadence, Hunter, Skylar, Mia, Nora, Allee, Tyler, Corey, Riley; 3 siblings, Raymond (Jeannie) Gabbard, Margaret (A. D.) Rose, Joyce (Dean) Sowder; special friend, Mike Cornette, and her precious pet dog, Bandit; as well as numerous relatives, friends and church family.

Larry Monroe Chasteen
Larry Monroe Chasteen, 63, of Berea died at his residence on Sunday, October 7, 2018 following an illness. He was a Berea native born August 30, 1955, son of the late Acy and Ruby Chasteen Jackson.
Larry was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran, retired Hitachi Automotive Systems employee, and attended Narrow Way Church of God. Larry was a resident of Berea most of his life and enjoyed nature, hiking, bird watching and wild animals. He was a true outdoorsman.
Survivors include 3 siblings, Marty Jackson (Diana), Sherrene Bailey, and Doug Jackson; as well as numerous relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Gary Chasteen.

Thurman Hymer, 95, of Berea, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home on Red Lick Road. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Smith Hymer. Thurman was born on March 11, 1923 in Madison County and was the son of Raymond and Annabelle Cox Hymer, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a farmer and had also been a bus driver for the Madison County school system. Thurman was a member of the Red Lick Holiness Church.
Survivors include: Leo Hymer, of Waco, KY; one daughter, Mataline Hendricks, of Red Lick; three grandchildren, Doug Hymer, Becky Upchurch, and Tina Hymer; three great-grandchildren, Austin Baker, Ryan Baker, and Brooklyn Hymer; two great-great grandchildren, Liberty Ramirez and Langston Hymer; two brothers, Kenneth and Lenneth Hymer; and two sisters, Arzella Kidwell and Brenda Poole.

Joe Harris Hamm
Mr. Joe Harris Hamm, 79, of Richmond, passed away on Friday morning, October 12, 2018 at the UK Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Lexington on July 25, 1939 to the late John Hamm and Jimmie McCracken Hamm Muehrcke.
Joe graduated from Lafayette High School in Lexington and went on to be a successful businessman in Richmond where he owned and operated Hamm’s BP gas station for 28 years. After his retirement in 2007 he went to work at Eastern Kentucky University in the Facilities Department where he was currently employed. At the age of 12, he was baptized into the fellowship of the First Christian Church in Lexington where he was a member. Joe enjoyed building and spending time in his yard and garden.
Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Jalette Hammond Hamm; his daughters, Joey Hepburn (W. David) and Jamie Higginbotham (Gene); his son, Jimmy Hamm (Amanda); five grandchildren, China Hepburn, Austin Higginbotham, Landen Higginbotham, Kylie Hamm and Hudson Hamm; one sister, Margaret Peggy Cramer (Dale); as well as many other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Bill Hammond officiating. Elease McBride Foley, 90, of Richmond, widow of William J. Foley, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018. She was born in Madison Co., Kentucky on February 16, 1928, the daughter of James and Pattie Roberts McBride.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Big Hill Christian Church. Ms. Foley enjoyed volunteer work at the VA Medical Center in Lexington where she assisted and encouraged many Veterans.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Foley, of Richmond and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, James McBride, Edgar McBride, Tom McBride, Woodrow McBride, Robert McBride, Mary Pattie McBride, Lucille Scrivner, Christine Moberly and Margaret White.

Mary Joyce “Joy” Johnson, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky. Joy was born in Somerset, Kentucky on January 10, 1938, the daughter of the late Harold and Lucy Gregory Massey.
She was a homemaker and was a member of The Panola Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years: Alex Parrish Johnson; two sons: Steve Johnson (Pam) of Middletown, Ohio and Joe Johnson (Melanie) of Brassfield; two brothers: Buddy Massey and Wayne Massey (Nancy); four grandchildren: Danny Combs, Joey Johnson, Kyle Johnson and Ashley Johnson; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Denise Marie Johnson and her sister.

Mrs. Jane Chalace Parker Dean, 95, of Richmond, formerly of Shelbyville, Kentucky and Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at Kenwood Health & Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Dean, the daughter of the late Gilbert Parker and Grace Moore Parker, was born in Shelby County on April 21, 1923.
She had worked in various doctor’s offices as a LPN and was a member of Clay Village Baptist Church in Shelby County. She enjoyed boating and studying genealogy. She was an avid UK basketball fan who never missed a game. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
On June 5, 1942, Mrs. Dean was united in marriage to Roger Dean who preceded her in death in 2001.

Sue Harrison Triplette, 74, widow of Johnny Triplette, passed away Tuesday at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Triplette was a native of Estill County, a daughter of the late William Jennings Harrison and Martha Jean Smith Harrison.

She was preceded in death by her son Ricky Bowling; her sister Brenda Harrison, and her brother Randall Harrison.

Ada Lucille Halcomb
Mrs. Ada Lucille Halcomb, 94 of Berea and formerly of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Berea Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Falmouth, KY on February 29, 1924 the daughter of Herbert and Luanna Varner Smith.
She was a retired nurse’s aide for Rockcastle Hospital. She was of the Holiness Faith and enjoyed reading, sketching, and helping people.
She is survived by her children, Norma Proctor and Janet Grider, both of Berea; two grandchildren, Sheila Jones of Richmond and Kelly North of Cincinnati; and two great grandchildren, Justin Jones of Richmond and Cody Jones of Berea.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Halcomb; a daughter, Edwina North; a brother, Leroy Smith; and a sister, Ina Varner.
Visitation will take place on Thursday October 11 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Dowell and Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow the visitation. Burial will follow at the Halcomb Cemetery.

Wanda Jean Clark, age 69, of Cantrill Street in Irvine passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Clark Regional Hospital in Winchester after a long illness. She was born July 26, 1949 in Madison County and was the daughter of Carrie Fox Clark and the late Glendon Clark.
She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She lived in Estill County most of her life.
