The Berea Fire Department has stayed busy so far in 2018, averaging about 64 calls per month during the period of January through September. This, in addition to other public services, includes non-emergency-related activities like safety and business inspections, training for community-wide disasters, educating school children about fire safety, and, of course, the department’s annual Christmas toy drive for disadvantaged kids.
Just a snapshot of the Berea Fire Department’s calls this year reveals the following:
162 vehicle accident calls.
171 alarm responses.
35 controlled burns.
35 fire calls, including 15 structure fires and 20 other fires.
71 runs to assist other agencies.
