Drug Arrests: On 09/13/2018 officers were called to a parking lot on Berea College campus in reference to suspicious activity. They located four subjects, two of which were sitting in a parked vehicle. After speaking with the subjects, they discovered that two of them had active arrest warrants. Inside of the vehicle they located syringes, suspected Methamphetamine, scales, and a handgun.
Officers arrested 39-year-old Joshua Grissam of Berea KY, 37-year-old Gwenivere Hart of Berea KY, 34-year-old Anthony Cates of Berea KY, and 21-year-old Miranda Tirey of Richmond KY.
They were charged with the following:
-Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
-Drug Paraphernalia Possession
-Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container
– Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree
Hart and Cates were both charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Drug Arrest: On 09/17/2018 officers responded to a residence on Logston Lane in reference to two subjects with arrest warrants. Both subjects were located inside of the home and placed under arrest. One of them attempted to flee the home but was taken into custody. Inside of the home officers located a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine and syringes where one of the subjects had been.
Officers arrested 46-year-old Angela Terrill of Berea KY and charged her with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia Possession, and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree.
Shawn Damrell was also arrested and charged with failure to Appear.
Drug Arrest: On 09/16/2018 officers were called to Lee’s Famous Recipe in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle was parked in the rear of the lot with two subjects inside of it. A small amount of suspected Methamphetamine along with another unknown substance was located inside of the vehicle.
Officers arrested 20-year-old Steven Holt of Berea KY and charged him with two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree. A juvenile was also taken into custody and charged with the same offenses.
Shoplifting Arrest: On 09/14/2018 officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Store employees observed the subject attempt to leave the store with merchandise that he did not pay for. He was uncooperative as he was being arrested but was eventually taken into custody.
Officers charged 47-year-old Johnny Smith of Berea KY with Theft By Unlawful Taking (Shoplifting) and Resisting Arrest.
Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument: On 09/11/2018 investigators charged 34-year-old Amy Newby of Berea KY with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.
Newby had been in possession of several fraudulent checks and attempted to use them at businesses.
