Ira Elizabeth Shelton
Ira Elizabeth Jones Shelton, 81, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville following a long illness. She was a Manchester, KY native born January 24, 1937, daughter of the late Chester and Alberta Hubbard Jones.
She owned and operated Gold Duster’s Music Barn where she was loved by all, a homemaker, and a devoted and loving wife of 57 years.
Survivors include her husband Jodie Shelton; seven children, Jerry Shelton (Anna), Jody Shelton, Jr. (Kathy), Ray Shelton, Casey Shelton (Janet), Mary Shelton, Theresa Jackson (Johnny), Tracy Planck (Rick); 11 siblings, Bob, Eddie, Preston, Alvin, Mary, Fern, Maggie, Ethel, Ruby, Lois and Lynn; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joey and Leroy, two daughters Dorothy and Peggy and brother Luther Jones.
Funeral Service 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Reppert Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pilot Knob Cemetery. Visitation 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Deborah Pingleton Davis age 66 of Berea, died Sunday at St Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Deborah had worked at Parker Seal Company in Berea and Lexmark in Lexington and retired from Kokoku manufacturing in Richmond. She was a member of the White Lick Baptist Church and was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Deborah was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Davis, and her father Charlie Pingleton.
Deborah is survived by her daughter Cheryl Davis, her mother Ezma Joy McCollum Pingleton, and her brothers Tim Pingleton, Rick Pingleton, Mike (Linda) Pingleton, and her sister Terri Jones.
Graveside funeral will be 2 pm Wednesday Feb. 21, 2018 at the Manse Cemetery at Paint Lick; Lakes Funeral Home Berea is in charge of arrangements.
Sharon Brown McConnell Steed, died after a long illness. She was the daughter of Hassell L. Brown and Audrey Hammonds of Whitesburg, Kentucky.
She is survived by her husband, James M. Steed of Lexington, Kentucky.
Her former husband, Harold Logan McConnell, precedes her in death.
Her ashes are to be buried in the Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, Kentucky. Oldham, Roberts, & Powell Funeral Home is in charges of the arrangements. A memorial service will be handled at later date.
Clelly Dale Witt II
Clelly Dale Witt II, 47, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at his home. Dale was born October 31, 1970, in Madison County.
Dale was an electrician and HVAC technician. He attended Providence Pentecostal Church in Winchester and loved sports, hunting, and fishing in his spare time. He was a US Army veteran of Desert Storm and Dale had coached Richmond Little League, YMCA Basketball Activities and Richmond Youth Football.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kendra Garrett Witt of Richmond; four sons, Tyler Dale Witt, Taran Dayne Witt, Taelor Danyn Witt and Taegan Drew Witt, all of Richmond; his parents, Clelly Dale Witt (Wilma) of Richmond and Opal Gayle Applegate Browne (Albert) of Virginia; and one sister, Tanya Gayle Eaves (Steven) of Richmond. Other survivors include his nephew, Grayson Eaves and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Sue Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clelly Thomas and Lucille Witt and Jay and Loraine Applegate and his father- in-law, Presley Garrett.
Funeral service for Dale will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 26, 2018, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Joey McClease officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM Sunday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Tyler, Taran, Taelor, Taegan Witt, his nephew, Grayson Eaves, cousin, Robbie Riley, J.W. Witt II, Jeff Cole, Erik Hall, and Denton Witt. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Applegate, Danny Farthing, Bobby Applegate, Jennifer Stidham, and Leah Garrett.
Flowers are welcome or donations may be made for funeral expenses.
Rosa Lee Conner
Rosa Lee Conner, 84, of Richmond, passed away Friday, February 23,2018 at her home. She was born in Madison Co., Ky., on March 25, 1933, the daughter of the late Walker and Hazel Tribble Covington.
She was a former employee of Westinghouse and had been an Home Interior Salesperson receiving many sales awards. She was a homemaker and expert seamstress, who enjoyed being home and caring for her family. She loved gardening and was known as a “green thumb gardener” who could raise anything. She loved children and provided child care for her family all of which lovingly called her “Ro Ro”. She was a member of the Union City Baptist Church and was proud of the Union City Community and her heritage.
Survivors include: her husband of 67 years, Garley “Slick” Conner, Jr.; her daughter, Patti Reynolds (Dan); a brother, Johnny Covington (Ann); a sister, Zoe Ann Hacker (Billy); grandchildren, Chris Childers (Tracy) and Kevin Reynolds (Alana); great-grandchildren, Kali Childers, Drew Childers, Tarryn Reynolds and Tate Reynolds; a special caregiver, Jennifer Clark.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Raymond Conner and Jerith Wayne Conner; siblings, Jennie King, Billye Tracy and Cres Covington.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Union City Baptist Church with Bro. David King officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at the church. Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Kali Childers, Drew Childers, Chris Childers, Will Daniel, Derek Daniel, Kevin Reynolds, Taryn Reynolds and Tate Reynolds. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jennifer Clark, Shelley Bell, Mary Weitcamp, Connie Duncan and Jennifer Hacker.

Enoch Eugene Lawson
Mr. Enoch Eugene Lawson, 92, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Thomas-Hood Veteran’s Center in Wilmore. He was born on March 27, 1925 in Duffield VA to the late William and Annis Kimberlin Lawson.
Mr. Lawson was a machinist and retired from Exide in Richmond. He also enjoyed woodworking, and farming after his retirement. Mr. Lawson was a veteran of the US Navy.
Survivors include his children: Carolyn Bertram, and Kenneth W. Lawson (Brenda); 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Lane Lawson, one daughter, Judy Ann Sparks, one grandson, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Sunday, at the funeral home.
Timothy Wayne Jenkins
Timothy Wayne Jenkins, age 59, of Hood Avenue in Irvine departed for eternity Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was born November 13, 1958 in Madison County and was the son of Flossie Stepp Profitt and the late Linville Jenkins.
He was a former United States Marine and a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to the Horizons Adult Healthcare. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
Survivors in addition to his mother include: 1 Sister: Sandy Broadbent of Fayette Co., 3 Brothers: Gregory Scott Profitt of Powell Co., Charles Vernon Profitt, Jr. and Brian Profitt of Estill Co.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Profitt and his long-time companion, Mattie Barnett.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 23, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sandy Broadbent. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 AM Friday at the Funeral Home.
Lucille (Isaacs) Skinner was born October 16, 1945 in Madison County and departed this life Sunday, February 18, 2018 at her residence, being 72 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Oscar & Mary (Evans) Isaacs.
Lucille is survived by three sons, Dale Skinner and his wife Jennifer of McKee, Charles Skinner and his wife Gracie of Irvine and William Skinner of McKee and by four siblings, Ralph Isaacs of McKee, Marion Isaacs and his wife Amanda of McKee, Delores Combs of Ohio and Faye Dixon and her husband Leon of Madison County. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Kadara and John Luke Skinner.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Skinner and by three brothers, Vester, Lester and Lyndon Isaacs.
Funeral service 12 Noon Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Lakes Funeral Home Mckee with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Burial to follow in the Lainhart Cemetery.
