Edd Roark, 96, formerly of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the V A Medical Center in Lexington. Born December 1, 1921, in Berry, Kentucky, he was the son of William Roark and Mellissa Gibson Roark Grubbs, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a carpenter, builder and a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. Edd was a member of Big Hill Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Moberly Roark, a daughter, Teresa Johnson (late wife of Paul), and a son James Roark and James’ wife Viola.
Survivors include one son, Keith Roark (Karen) of Georgetown; nine grandchildren, Lisa Lamb, James Roark, Samuel Vaughn, Jessica Tipton, Kalena Roark, Kelsey Durham, Karlee Roark, Kenzie Roark, and Kaden Roark; seven great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service for Edd will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Jack Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Samuel Vaughn, James Roark, Dakota Lakes, Adam Lamb, Terry Moberly, Kaden Roark and Derek Tipton. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, Tommy Moberly, Ike Douglas, and Allen Grant.
