Effective Care giving in Dementia: The Best Friends Approach
Join author Virginia Bell, co-creator of the internationally recognized Best Friends Approach™ as she talks about how to use person-centered care with people living with dementia. This approach has been shown to improve quality of life and reduce challenging behaviors through a focus on relationships and the person’s life story. One Size Does Not Fit All: Understanding Dementia Signs & Symptoms
Join us for an educational session focused on the warning signs of dementia and a discussion of different causes of dementia, including vascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Lewy Body Dementia. Please bring your questions about dementia detection, brain changes including behaviors and cognitive changes of various forms of dementia. This program is offered through an interactive telemedicine system to connect with persons who are impacted by Alzheimer’s and related memory disorders, providing education and supportive services across the state of Kentucky.
