Berea Police Report Oct. 24, 2017


EPO/DVO Violation: On 10/22/2017 officers were called to the 100 block of Logston Heights in reference to someone living in the woods behind one of the homes. A male subject was located in the wooded area, and officers learned that there was an active protective order in place between him and a resident in the neighborhood.

Officers arrested 45 year old Raymond Mitchell of Berea KY and charged him with Violation of a KY EPO/DVO.


DUI Arrest: On 10/21/2017 an officer observed a vehicle swerving on Highway 1016 and conducted a traffic stop. The driver had a strong odor of alcohol and showed several different signs of intoxication.

Officers arrested 39 year old Steven Woolridge of Richmond KY and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense. As he was being taken into the Madison County Detention Center, he made threats to the officer and was also charged with Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree.


Wanton Endangerment: On 10/19/2017 officers were called to the area of Candlewood Drive in reference to a male subject with a knife who was threatening people. The subject was located walking on Legacy Drive wearing a large knife on his side. Several witnesses stated that they observed the man make threatening gestures to them, one witness stated that the subject ran towards him with the knife.

Officers arrested 30 year old William Seymour of Berea KY and charged him with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Public Intoxication. After he was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center, it was discovered that he had given his brother’s name when he was arrested. He was also charged with Theft of Identity of Another without Consent.


Criminal Trespass: Officers were called to a residence on Spring Circle Drive in reference to a subject on the property who had been trespassed. The subject was located at the property, and it was confirmed that he had previously been trespassed.

Officers arrested 41 year old Christopher Carrol of Berea KY and charged him with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree.


Receiving Stolen Property: On 10/18/2017 an officer observed a vehicle traveling on Chestnut Street that matched the description of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle pulled in to Taco Bell and the driver went in the business as the officer was attempting to make contact with him. The subject was located inside, and several different items of paraphernalia were located inside of the vehicle. One of the items contained a white powder substance It was also confirmed that the vehicle was stolen.

Officers arrested 35 year old Coby Chasteen of Berea KY and charged him with the following:

-Receiving Stolen Property U/$10,000
-Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree
-Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operators License
-Drug Paraphernalia Possession
