Join Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Bluegrass and the Richmond Police Department (RPD) later this month at our Dunk A Cop event as we kick off our Bigs in Blue partnership! Come out and enjoy FREE coffee and donuts, while supplies last, and try your hand at dunking a police officer! Plus, you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to meet and greet local law enforcement and BBBS staff.

Bigs in Blue is a one-to-one mentoring program that connects youth with police in communities throughout the country, building strong, trusting, lasting relationships. These relationships can help build stronger bonds between law enforcement and the families they serve.

“The Bigs in Blue program is a chance for officers to change the lives of children in our community for years to come,” RPD Officer Josh Hale says. “We hope you come out and show your support for both the Richmond Police Department and Big Brothers Big Sisters. After all, what could be more fun than dunking a police officer?”

Dunk A Cop, sponsored by PNC Bank and Dunkin’ Donuts, will be held at the Richmond Police Department at 1721 Lexington Road in Richmond from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15. For more information, call Rhonda Middleton, Madison County Regional Program Manager, at 859- 338-6818. To learn more about BBBS of the Bluegrass, visit www.bbbs-bluegrass.org.
