On Saturday, Oct. 31, Richmond artist Sue Reeves will demonstrate weaving on the loom at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A Richmond native, Reeves was taught to sew at the age of eight by her mother, who came from a family of seamstresses. Reeves always wanted to weave, and her husband purchased an old LeClerc loom for her at auction in 1980. Her woven scarves and accessories are regularly available at the center.
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea features works by more than 700 artisans from more than 100 counties across the Commonwealth. The center’s exhibits, shopping and travel information areas are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cafe is open 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
