Burglary Arrest: On 09/09/2015, police charged Joshua J. Oliver, age 29, Baldwin Street, Berea, for burglary in connection with two residential break-ins.
During the mid-afternoon hours, a resident in the 200 block of McDaniel Avenue reported that her residence had been broken into and several items were stolen, including a pair of earrings, SD cards, and a laptop computer. A description of the suspect was obtained during the investigation of the burglary.
A short time later, an officer observed Oliver in the 100 block of S. Killarney Lane carrying a backpack. Oliver fit the description of the suspect. When police approached Oliver to confront him, he fled on foot. After a lengthy foot pursuit, Oliver was taken into custody. A search of his backpack produced the aforementioned stolen items along with several other items of property (jewelry, Kindle Fire) that were traced to a residence on S. Killarney Lane that had also been broken into earlier in the afternoon.
Oliver was charged for the following offenses and lodged in the MCDC:
– Burglary 2nd Degree, 2 counts
– Fleeing or Evading Police 2ndf Degree
– Escape 3rd Degree
