A meet-the-artist reception will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea for the center’s exhibition “It Takes Two: Collaborations by Kentucky Artisans.” This event gives visitors an opportunity to talk with many of the artists whose work is on display.
This exhibit showcases 33 collaborative works by 66 Kentucky artists who have paired up to create new works. By working together, collaborating artists brought a variety of skills and backgrounds into play and learned about new materials and methods of working. The idea of collaborating to create art – was for many participating artists an entirely new concept and idea.
At 2 p.m., a short program will begin in the exhibit gallery, with an introduction of artists present and a short gallery talk. Following this program, artists will remain on hand to answer questions and talk further with visitors. Light refreshments will be served. This reception is free and open to the public.
