Richmond Police Report Aug. 10, 2015


Drug Charges: On 08/07/2015, police charged Brian C. Coffey, age 29, and Stephanie B. Sheldrick, age 23, both of Mt. Vernon, for Manufacturing Methamphetamine after responding to a suspicious activity complaint.

At approximately 4:18 P.M., an officer was dispatched to Kroger to investigate a report of suspicious activity by persons inside the store who were purchasing items commonly utilized in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Prior to the officer’s arrival, the suspects left in a vehicle that was subsequently located in the Walmart parking lot occupied by Coffey and Sheldrick.

The officer made contact with the two and conducted a search of their vehicle. The search revealed pseudoephedrine pills, fuel injector fluid, coffee filters, drain cleaner, lithium batteries, Epsom salt, and a plastic funnel, all items utilized to manufacture methamphetamine.

Following interviews with both suspects at the police station, they were charged for Manufacturing Methamphetamine and lodged in the MCDC.


Theft Charges: On 08/06/2015, police charged Anita G. Cheeks, age 30, Robinson Terrace, in connection with the theft of items from the Madison County Library.

On 08/05/2015, a representative of the library reported to police that information had been received indicating that Cheeks had checked out several Blu-ray movies and possibly pawned or sold the items. During the course of the follow-up investigation, it was discovered that Cheeks had, in fact, checked out a large number of the movies from the library utilizing several different library cards and had pawned the items at a local pawn shop by representing them as her own.

The investigating officer recovered $1347.62 worth of Blu-ray movie discs from a local pawn shop.

On 08/06/2015, Cheeks was taken into custody in Smith Village and lodged in the MCDC, charged for the following offenses:

– Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property $500 to $10,000
– Theft by Deception Under $500


Drug Charges: On 08/07/2015, police charged Lonnie N. Thomas, age 27, Bonanza Road, for several drug offenses after he was discovered passed out in his vehicle.

At approximately 8:12 P.M., an officer discovered Thomas passed out in a vehicle at the intersection of W. Irvine Street and N. Second Street. Upon awakening Thomas, officers determined that he was under the influence of an intoxicant and took him into custody. A search of his person revealed pill fob containing 25 oxycodone pills, a pill bottle containing 11.5 alprazolam pills, and a small amount of marijuana. His vehicle further contained two items of drug use paraphernalia (straw, hollow pen).

Thomas was charged for the following offenses and lodged in the MCDC:

– Public Intoxication
– Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
– Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia


Drug Charge: On 08/09/2015, police charged Blake D. Wilson, age 25, Shamrock Lane, for a drug offense following his arrest on an outstanding warrant.

At approximately 11:00 A.M., Wilson was taken into custody at his residence on the strength of a bench warrant from the Madison District Court charging him for Failure to Appear. During a search of Wilson subsequent to his arrest, and officer recovered approximately one ounce of suspected cocaine.

Wilson was charged for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and lodged in the MCDC.
