Richmond Police Report July 13, 2015


Assault Arrest: On 07/10/2015, police charged Averi J. Lewis, age 22, Shamrock Lane, for assault after she intentionally struck another party with her vehicle.

On 07/09/2015, officers were dispatched to apartments in the 1500 block of E. Irvine Street to investigate a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene. Upon arrival, officers met with the male victim who reported that he was pushing his motorcycle through the parking lot when Lewis entered the parking lot from the street at a high rate of speed. The victim indicated that he attempted to move to the side of the parking lot to avoid being hit, but Lewis steered toward him and struck the motorcycle, causing it to fall on the victim. Lewis then drove forward, pushing both the motorcycle and the victim several feet across the parking lot. Lewis then fled the scene. The victim suffered several scratches on his legs but did not require medical attention. The motorcycle suffered severe damage.

On 07/10/2015, Lewis was located at the University Shopping Center and was taken into custody. She was lodged in the MCDC, charged for the following offenses:

– Assault 2nd Degree
– Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
– Leaving Scene of an Accident
– No Operator’s License
– No Vehicle Insurance


Burglary Arrest: On 07/09/2015, police charged Jock E. Black, age 29, S. Killarney Lane, for burglary in connection with a domestic violence incident.

At approximately 2:30 P.M., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Rice Court in response to a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that Black had entered the residence uninvited and engaged in a physical altercation with a female with whom he has a child in common, her mother, and her mother’s boyfriend. During the course of the altercation, Black reportedly assaulted all three with his fists and a miniature baseball bat and, at one point, brandished a knife. During the altercation, which escalated into an all-out fight between the parties, all involved sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention. Black fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Black was subsequently located on S. Killarney Lane and taken into custody without incident. He was charged for Burglary 1st Degree and lodged in the MCDC.
