City of Berea property tax bills are mailed one time per year, usually in October. Assessments are prepared by the Madison County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA). Property tax rates, due dates, penalty and interest amounts are determined annually by the Berea City Council based on assessed values provided by the Madison County Property Valuation Administrator (859-623-5410). Per Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) the owner for a particular tax year is determined by owner of record as of January 1 of that tax year.
