Aaron Christopher Begley
Aaron Christopher Begley, 23, of Frankfort, formerly of Berea, died Friday, May 1, 2015 of complications from cystic fibrosis. He was a Hazard, Kentucky native born June 25, 1991, graduate of Madison Southern High School, Class of 2010, and member of the Pentecostal Faith.
Survivors include his father, Robert Begley; his mother, Kathleen Clark Turner (Steven); 2 siblings, Robert Allen Begley, Elizabeth Riddle; paternal grandparents, Jackie and Jan Begley; maternal grandfather, Johnny Clark; as well as numerous friends and relatives.
Funeral Service 1:00 pm, Monday, May 4, 2015 at Reppert Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Red Lick Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 6:00 – 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Himes, Charles Daniel, Isaac Robinson, Dalton Rogers, Kyle Cornette, Blake Dickerson, Seth Haynes.
Dale William Parsons
Dale William Parsons, 57, formerly of Richmond, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was the widower of Danusia Wysocki Parsons. Dale was born September 14, 1957, in Harlan, Kentucky, to Juanita Nix Parsons and the late Duane Parsons Sr.
He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he majored in horticulture and landscape design. Dale was the owner and operator of Bluegrass Landscape Design in Versailles, Kentucky, and member of Wallins Baptist Church, Wallins Creek, Kentucky.
He was the proud father of Kazia Lucille Parsons of Dayton, Ohio, and is further survived by his mother, Juanita Parsons of Richmond; two brothers, Duane Parsons Jr. (Linda) and Thurman Parsons (Kathy), both of Richmond; a sister, Darryl Ann Hake (Paul) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two aunts, Lucille Hensley and Marleen Parsons; an uncle, Adrian Nix Sr.; plus eight nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service for Dale will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Freeman Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Danny Williams, David Moore, Bill Aldridge, John Aldridge, Brian Hake and Adrian Nix.
Marion Douglas Gross
Marion Douglas Gross, 66, of Richmond, widower of Sylvia Moore Ballinger Gross, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015. Mr. Gross, the son of the late William and Ethel Ingram Gross, was born in Madison County on August 5, 1948.
He was a retired farmer who enjoyed fishing and camping. He enjoyed being with his family and was an avid UK Wildcat basketball fan. He was a member of the Fountain Park First Church of God.
He is survived by two sons, William Douglas Fields and Justin Allen Fields; a daughter, Susan Alexander Lane Bird Elkin; a step-daughter, Judy Ballinger King; a brother, John “Jay” Gross (Pat); two sisters, Barbara Linville (James) and Dorothy Brock (Jack); a sister-in-law, Barbara Gross; a special niece, Judy Collins (Mike); a special nephew, Billy Ray (Holly); a number of grandchildren and several generations of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are: three brothers, Jerry Gross, Pete “Buckhorn” Gross and Franklin Martin Gross; and a sister, Mary Ellen Baker.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Elder Goble and Bro. Jimmy Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

William Vasey, 97, of Berea, died Saturday morning May 2, 2015 at his residence. He was a Dickson City, Pennsylvania native born October 26, 1917, son of the late William and Mae Evans Vasey.
He was a graduate of God’s Bible College, Cincinnati, Ohio, Class of 1943 and retired Primitive Methodist Minister. William was Pastor Emeritus and member of Laurel Run Primitive Methodist Church.
After retirement William and his loving wife of 73 years, Norine Ashcraft Vasey, moved to Berea in June of 1983. After relocating to Madison County he attended First United Methodist Church (Richmond) and Pilot Knob Baptist Church (Berea).
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 children, William (Joyce) Vasey, Kenneth (Terry) Vasey, Ginene Vasey Randall; 9 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives, friends and church family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter and 10 siblings.
Funeral Service 10:00 am Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Pilot Knob Baptist Church with Brothers Greg Lakes, Kevin Slemp, and William Vasey officiating. Burial will follow in Pilot Knob Cemetery. Visitation 6:00 – 9:00 pm Monday at Reppert Funeral Home.
Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law will serve as Pallbearers.

Cindy Diane Todd Bogie Holbert, 56, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Baptist Health in Lexington. She was born August 2, 1958, in Richmond, Kentucky to Bill D. and Shirley Stone Todd.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three children, Chris Bogie (Sara), Josh Bogie (Nikki) and Melanie Bogie; two brothers, Michael Todd (Sharon), Brian Todd (Sherri); one sister, Deborah Brunty (Bruce); and seven grandchildren, Austin, Michael, Jordon, and Alexia Bogie, Kaylee and Tommy Cheeks.
Service for Cindy will be conducted at 5:30 PM Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Michael Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Turpin Cemetery at Winston in Estill County. Visitation will be after 2:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Edward Robinson Jr.
Edward Robinson, Jr., 81, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond. He was born January 22, 1934, in Richmond, Kentucky to Edward Porter Robinson and Ella Mae Winkler Proctor, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a retired owner and operator of an insulation business serving central Kentucky for about 30 years.
He is survived by three daughters Desiree Lamusga (Warren), Theresa Burdette (Tim) and Tonya Evans (Mike); three sons, Gary Robinson (Linda), Jason Robinson, Sean Robinson; one step-son, Butch Comley (Sheila); one sister –in-law, Mary Hill. He also leaves his grandchildren, Wayne Robinson, Linda Robinson, Kelli Robinson, Carissa Pruitt (Chris), Andrea Lamusga, Ryan Lamusga, Joshua Reece (Nikita), Zachary Reece, Stephanie Northern, Robin Northern, Caliesha Comley and Donald Comley; as well as, 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Charley Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Noland Douglas Warren
Noland Douglas “Doug” Warren, 62, of Poosey Ridge, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at his home. He was born in Madison Co., Ky. on November 9, 1952, the son of the late Noland and Geneva Masters Warren.
Doug was a 1970 Graduate of Madison Central High School and a 1974 Graduate of Eastern Ky. University. He worked as an Accountant at Okonite Cable Co. for 41 years and was a member of the Salem Christian Church. Doug enjoyed watching sports on television, riding his motorcycle, his family and his friends, and taking his Jeep on excursions with the Poosey Samurai Club.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Adams Warren; one son, Robert Warren (Paula), of Richmond; one daughter, Brooke Short (Chad), of Berea; three grandchildren, Ryan Short, Brayden Short and Evan Short; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Baker; special niece, Elaine Steinbach (Fredirk).
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with John McCord and Johny Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Monday at the Funeral Home.
Johnnie L. James Jr.
Johnnie L. “John” James, 49, of Porter Dr., passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home. John, the son of Johnnie L. and Betsy Lainhart James, was born in Madison County on September 18, 1966.
He had worked as a mason and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also a big U.K Wildcat Basketball fan.
Survivors include his mother: Betsy Lainhart James; his daughter: Tiffany Michelle James, both of Richmond; two sisters: Paula James and Tracy (& Justin) Smith; his niece: Lexi Smith; three nephews: Sean Kokoszka, Nathan Kokoszka and Justin Smith; his great niece: Kinsley; his great nephew: Skyler Kokoszka and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Richmond Cemetery. Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Virginia Ellen Johns
Mrs. Virginia Ellen Johns, 88, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Kenwood Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Johns, the daughter of the late Emmett Johns and Lola Mae Tackett Johns Reynolds, was born in Madison County on December 10, 1926.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother and friend. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. She enjoyed her flowers, as well as, quilting and eating out with family and friends. Additionally, she was a great cook and was always baking cakes and pies and sharing them with others. She will be remembered by her neighbors for her phone calls telling them she had a plate of food for them. She also was a baby sitter for many in her community. Mrs. Johns was a member of the Unity Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her son: Bobby and Flora Johns; her daughter: Lola Ann and John Puckett, all of Richmond; her brother: Ed and Claire Johns; four grandchildren: Tim Puckett and Patty, Brian Puckett and Kathy, Paula and Danny Jarvis and David and Karrie Johns; seven great grandchildren: Jennifer and Kade Ritchie, Grace Puckett, Ben Puckett, Lyndsey Johns, Matthew Johns, Blake Jarvis and Derek Jarvis; two great great-granddaughters, Jocelyn Ritchie and Maylee Ritchie; her sister-in-law: Elsie Foster and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Johns was also preceded in death by two brothers: William Nelson Johns and Elzie “Junebug” Foster, Jr.; her sister: Martha Mae Little; two grandchildren: John Kevin Puckett and Karol Lynette Puckett and a sister-in-law: Della Johns.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis L. Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the College Hill Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Shelby Jean Rogers
Mrs. Shelby Jean Rogers, 57, of Richmond, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the St. Joe East Hospital in Lexington. Shelby was born on April 28, 1957 in Carrolton Kentucky to the late James and Eva Taylor Alsip.
She was a cashier at Meijer’s, a job that she loved very much. Shelby was full of life and always had a smile.
She is survived by her daughter, Mackenzie Whittamore (Marvin); one brother, Jerry Alsip (Linda); one sister, Janice Johnson; her dog, Bear; special friends, Angelia Lawson & Carolyn Sego.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Dennis Rogers; one brother, Jimmy Alsip; and one sister, Linda Hendershot.

Clayton Gordon King
Clayton Gordon King, 76, of Stanford ,passed away Thursday April 30, 2015 at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford KY. He is survived by his wife Sally. Clayton was born March 11, 1939 in Madison Co. KY to the late Johnny Lee and Betty Masters King.
He was a factory worker, and a member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.
Also surviving three sons Scott King(Tammy) of Madison Co., Gary Sowers(Melissa) of Louisville, and Robby Sowers(Minnie) of Lancaster; one daughter Angie Brandenburg(Jerry) of Madison Co.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Clayton along with his parents was preceded in death by a son Ricky E. Sowers, a daughter Alice Napier, a brother John King Jr., and a sister Helen Talbott.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday May 5, 2015 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daryl Hodge officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday. Burial in Manse Cemetery in Paint Lick KY.

Bessie Mae Reece
Bessie Mae Marcum Reece, age 91, of Richmond, passed away Friday at the Baptist Health Richmond Hospital after a short illness. She was born June 15, 1923, in Estill County, the daughter of the late Chester and Lizzie Mansfield Marcum.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Madison County most of her life. She was a member of the Lyndon St. Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Reece.
She is survived by: 5 Daughters: Elizabeth Davis, Gladys Hoover (William), Louise Hyatt, Thelma Hoover (James), Susie Tuggle. 3 Sons: William Reece (Madelene), Tracie Reece (Mary), Paul Reece (Clair).
1 Sister: Dessie Burton, 30 Grandchildren, 52 Great Grandchildren, 27 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Great Grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by: 1 Son, Loda James Reece, 2 Sisters, and 3 Brothers.

Blossom Faye Jones
Blossom Faye (Day) Jones was born September 18, 1931 in Jackson County and departed this life Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Tyner, being 83 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Willie & Myrtle (Bishop) Day.
Blossom is survived by five children, Robert Wayne (Betty) Jones of McKee, Kenneth Ray (Valerie) Jones of McKee, Gerald Allen (Brenda) Jones of Berea, Judith Ann (Ronald) Tincher of Tyner and Lois Mae (Glen) Bullock of Mt. Vernon. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Blossom was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Jones; by a daughter, Leondra Sullivan; grandson, Jamie Rose; two brothers, Henry Day and Jimmy Day and by two sisters, Marie Hellard and Laversa Ward.
Blossom was a member of the Sand Gap Christian Church.
Visitation was from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Lakes Funeral Home McKee. Funeral service was held 3:00PM Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Maupin officiating. Burial followed in the Bright Flower Cemetery.
