Apartment Fire


Earlier this afternoon (Jan. 29, 2015), Mount Vernon and Brodhead Fire Departments responded to a possible apartment fire on West Main Street in Mount Vernon. Upon arrival, smoke was observed coming from an upstairs apartment. Fire crews made entry to the apartment and begin a quick search
for occupants. During the search, a small fire was located and extinguished. The fire was contained to the area of origin. The building suffered extensive smoke damage. No injuries occurred.

MVFD Engine 610, MVFD Ladder 611, BFD Engine 12, and BFD Rescue 13 responded. Mount Vernon Police Department also assisted at the scene.
