Nadia Old age 11, daughter of Bill Old of Berea, died Friday March 21, 2014 at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio.
Nadia was a 5th grader at Berea Community Elementary School where she was involved with many activities including Pirate 21, and Nadia was also a member of the Crossroads Fellowship Church in Berea where she enjoyed Sports Blast Camp.
Nadia is survived by her father Bill Old of Berea, her aunts and uncles Robert and Julie Old, and Sherri and Bruce Walker, and her adoptive brother Thomas Bradford Benson. Nadia was preceded in death by her mother Linda Kay Mills Old.
Funeral services will be Wednesday March 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Church on the Rock in Berea. Rev. Jonas Hill and Rev. Mark Sarver will officiate, burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm at the Church on the Rock in Berea.
Pallbearers will be Chris, Robbie, and Robert Watkins and David Ringled.
Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Billy Wayne Dalton
Billy Wayne Dalton, 58, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, March 27, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was born December 5, 1955, to Eddie and Carolyn Wells Dalton. On March 22, 1976, he was united in marriage to his wife, Virginia Lynn Cates Dalton. They were blessed with three children, Melissa Kay Dalton, Brent Nicholas Dalton and Ashley Lynn Dalton.
Billy was also blessed with three grandchildren who knew him as “Poppy,” Rhiannon Harvey, Rayden Harvey and Alexia Dalton.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Dalton; his mother, Carolyn Mae Dalton; two brothers, Gary Dalton and Steve Dalton; his mother-in-law, Marietta “Cricket” Ross; sister-in-law Sandy Lainhart (Danny); and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Dalton.
Billy was a farmer, devoted fisherman and hunter.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Butch Pennington and Bro. Shelby Cates officiating. Burial will follow in the Manse Cemetery at Paint Lick. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the funeral home.

Missy Silva age 37, died Wednesday March 26, 2014 at the UK Medical Center. Missy is the daughter of Bertha Coffey Gipson and the late Alex Gipson.
Missy was preceded in death by her sisters Karen Sue Allen, and Roberta Lear, and her brother Lonnie Gipson.
Missy attended the Trinity Full Gospel Church and she is survived by her mother Bertha Gipson, her husband Jesus Silva, her two daughters Maria and Talia Martinez, and her siblings Kemuel Allen, Richard (Lisa) Allen, Katherine (John) Harding, Louise Peters, Sandra Biggs, Ester Handley, Dorothy Johns, Alex J. Gipson, Herman Wayne Gipson, and James Gipson.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 29, 2014 at 10 am at the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Berea, with Bro. Bobby Jack Allen officiating. Burial will be in Seven Pines Cemetery in Jackson County. Visitation will be Friday from 6-9 pm at Trinity Full Gospel Church. Lakes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jack Jason Walters, 37, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Jack was born September 23, 1976. He was a former employee of Independent Opportunities where he worked as a direct care service provider.
Survivors include: his wife, Michelle Walters; one son, Joshua Daniel Clark; one daughter, Rylee Jaceann Walters; his mother, SueAnn Hunter; his father, Tommy Walden; his stepmother, Connie King; two brothers, Adam Price (Ashlee) and Thomas “T.C.” Walden (April); two sisters, Crystal Gayle King Smiddy and Melissa Ann King Meadows; a niece, Adelynn Price; grandparents, Louda Berry (Jack) and Ralph King; and a special friend, Mickey.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Christine and Luther Harrison, Betty Jean Charleston and Thomas Walden Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Sister Terry Conner officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery at Waco, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Glenn Russell Baker
Glenn Russell “Charlie” Baker, 60, husband of Cheryl Lynn Watson Baker, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky. He was born December 31, 1953, in Fayette County to Anna Margaret Brown Baker and the late Earl Russell Baker. “Charlie” was a handyman and a general laborer and he attended the Cobhill Church of Christ in Irvine, Kentucky.
In addition to his wife, Cheryl L. Watson Baker, and his mother, Anna Margaret Brown Baker, he is survived by: one son, Tony Abel of Richmond, Ky.; one stepson, Chris Coffey (Timberlee) of Irvine, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Christina Coffey of Irvine, Ky., and Casey Coffey of Lee County, Ky.; two brothers, Earl Baker (Rhonda) of Berea, Ky., and David Baker (Pat) of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Hazel Long (James) of Irvine, Ky., and Lorene Rader of Richmond, Ky; 10 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Chris Coffey and Donald Jones officiating. Donald R. Moberly Sr.
Rev. Donald R. Moberly Sr., 78, passed away Sunday morning, March 23, 2014, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Don was born July 30, 1935, in Madison County, the son of the late Charles and Lucy Taylor Moberly.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. A minister of the Holiness faith, he was a member of the Irvine Street Holiness Church. He had worked for 21 years as a machinist, first for Westinghouse and later retiring from North American Philips.
Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Hazel Ray Moberly; one daughter, Pamela Holman (Terry); one son, Donald R. Moberly Jr., both of Richmond; one granddaughter, Shauna Holman Jones (Eric) of Richmond; two grandsons, Nathan Holman of Paris and Joshua Moberly of Richmond; two great-granddaughters, Amber L. Jones and Aithne L. Moberly of Richmond; three great-grandsons, Levi, Justin and Jayden Jones of Richmond; one sister, Marlene Horn of Springboro, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews as well as his children in the Lord, Marsha and Kenny Neal.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Combs of Ohio.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Hale and Bro. Anthony Cruse officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Edna Lois Reeves
Edna Lois Reeves age 92 of Menelaus Road in Berea, passed away at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Edna was born at Kerby Knob in Jackson County to the late Andrew Jackson and Agnes Neeley Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Reeves and 8 siblings Zach, James, Willie, Norman, Floyd, John, Myrtle and Carrie.
She is survived by one son Paul Jones and his wife Deanna, two grandsons Andrew Jackson Jones and James William Jones. One great granddaughter Ava Samantha Jones also survives her.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday March 26, 2014 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea with Rev. Bruce Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12pm until time of services.
Evelyn “Willie” Marie Adams Marston of Richmond, KY by way of Point Pleasant, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 27, 2014.
She is survived by her wife Lynda McBride, her two sons Faizal McBride and Christian Holloway, her grandson Doc Holloway, her “Good-good Baby,” her Mother Geraldine Adams, her brother John Adams and too-many family, friends and otherwise touched individuals to mention here by name.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Willie was something different to everyone she met a loving wife and parent a skilled plumber a rambling stranger the oldest little kid or a tragic soul but no matter who you ask, she was always someone who genuinely cared. She loved bigger than most have the courage to dream, and that’s how she’ll always be remembered. Rest well Willie – you’ve earned it.
David Colson Moss
David Colson Moss, 78, of Danville Rd. in Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Christian Care Center in Lancaster. Born October 6, 1935 in Lancaster, David was a son of the late William Ball & Anna Elveree Carter Moss.
He was a retired employee of IBM, retired from the United States Postal Service, Army veteran, member of the Oddfellows and member of Lancaster Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Shannon Moss, two brothers, Billy & Julian Moss, Sr., and a sister, Carolyn Moss.
His survivors include his wife , Peggy Swope Moss, two daughters, Andrea (Bruce) Freeman of Richmond and Deborah Moss of Brooklyn, New York, two granddaughters, Anna & Ella Freeman, one brother, Shelton Moss of Lancaster, and three sisters, Mary Kathryn Hurte and Wilma Davis both of Lancaster and Virginia Rogers of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Lancaster Christian Church with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Friday, March 28, 2014 at Ramsey Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM till service time Saturday at the church.

Ina Osborne Metcalf
Ina Osborne Metcalf, age 69, of Dug Hill Rd. in Irvine, passed away Friday, March 28, at the Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born April 23, 1944, in Estill County, the daughter of the late Robert and Modena Johnson Osborne.
She retired from Carhartt as a machine operator after 36 years. She attended the House of Prayer and had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Metcalf.

Mary Lucille Hall Benton, age 84, of Lilly Avenue in Irvine, passed away Tuesday, March 25, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington after a short illness. She was born March 29, 1929, in Breathitt County, a daughter of the late Roy and Lucy Thorpe Hall.
She was retired from the Meat Department at Food World and had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the church’s Christian Women’s Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Benton.
She is survived by 2 Daughters Sue Curtis of Richmond, Barsha Honchell and husband Larry of Estill Co., 2 Sons James S. Benton and fiancé Julie of Shelbyville, Mark Benton and wife Kellie of Richmond, 1 Brother Vincent Hall and wife Connie of Franklin, OH.
She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren Andrea Williams, Jennifer Neal, Ricky Joe Benton, Stephanie Benton, Tyler Benton, Adam Benton, Steve Honchell, Jordyn Honchell, Kayla Benton, Rachael Benton and 11 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 Sister Vivian Hall; 2 Brothers Wallace Hall, Roy Hall Jr. and 1 Grandchild Ashley Elizabeth Honchell.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday 1 PM at the First Christian Church by Pastor Greg Humpert with burial to follow in the Roberts Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 PM Thurday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 11 AM Friday at the church.

Harold Hays Sr.
Harold Hays Sr. was born October 30, 1929 in Jackson County and departed this life Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Annville, being 84 years of age. He was the son of the late Floyd & Ruby (Madden) Hays.
Harold is survived by six children, Paulette Kelley and her husband Kenneth of Berea, Harold Hays, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Tyner; Gary Hays and his wife Joyce of McKee; Tony Hays of Gray Hawk; Joel Hays and his wife Betty of Gray Hawk and Lesa Gieringer of Richmond. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne Hays and his wife Kacy of Annville and by two sisters, Nell Hacker and her husband Jerry of Gray Hawk and Mary Lou Ragle and her husband Arvis of Springboro, OH. Harold was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and 24 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold was also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Lou (Moore) Hays; by a son, Christopher Hays and by the following brothers and sisters, James R. Hays, Floyd Hays, Jr., Robert Hays, Richard Mac Hays, William Lowell Hays, David Hays, Joseph Hays, Marie Young, Irene Moore, Mable Morgan, & Bonnie Hays.
Harold was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was a 32 Degree Mason. He was also retired from Kentucky State Highway Dept.
Funeral service were held 1:00PM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Lakes Funeral Home McKee with Bro. Gary Farmer and Bro. Carroll de Forest officiating. Burial followed in the Floyd Hays Cemetery. Visitation was at 6:00PM Friday, March 28, 2014 at the funeral home.
