EVENT: Community – STEMI Drill
DATE: Friday, November 22, 2013
TIME: 1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Jerry Goble State Farm – Big Hill Avenue, Baptist Health Richmond – 801 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, KY 40475
Baptist Health Richmond, an accredited Chest Pain Center, will partner with Madison County EMS and State Farm Agent, Jerry Goble to stage a Community Early Heart Attack Care (EHAC) event.
Heart attack is the number one killer of the adult population in the United States, and in more than half of the cases, a heart attack can be prevented with early treatment and before damage to the heart can occur.
Many people are unaware that early symptoms of heart attack don’t necessarily knock a patient to the ground.
This community drill is important because it will help to educate the community about the signs and symptoms of a heart attack with the intention of raising awareness and providing education.
We believe by teaching the community EHAC, we can drastically reduce the number of deaths caused by heart attacks.
This exercise not only benefits the public, it helps all of us in healthcare remember the task and priorities and what it takes to deliver exemplary patient care.
Not only is Baptist Health Richmond an Accredited Chest Pain Center, earlier this year, the hospital was granted State approval to perform lifesaving heart care 24/7 through a procedure called “angioplasty.”
Moments matter when anyone suffers a heart attack. The first step in improving your chances of survival is to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack. The second step is to call 9-1-1. The third step is to get to the closest hospital that can provide life-saving heart care which Baptist Health Richmond can now do.
