A fire broke out Monday afternoon at Kellys Fruit Market in Richmond. Richmond Firefighters were called to scene, off the Eastern Bypass, around 1 p.m. The fire was said to have started in a stove in the kitchen, near the back of the building. The owners told firemen they attempted to put the fire out themselves but the smoke became too thick. The fire was contained to the kitchen which sustained minor smoke and water damage.
Owners say the market will be closed for the rest of the day but hopes they will reopen tomorrow.
We”re told no one was injured in the fire.
