Investigators say fires at EKU dorm were arson. Officials at EKU say hallway bulletin boards on the 8th and 19th floors of Commonwealth Hall were set on fire, just after 4 a.m. Thursday morning. None of the the 400 students that live in the dorm were injured during the evacuation.
The fires caused some minor damage to the walls, and a sprinkler in an adjacent room to one of the fires had been tampered with Investigators say. The fire is still under investigation by the Richmond Fire Department, EKU Police, and the Kentucky State Fire Marshals Office. Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
