Irene Turner Gray
Irene Turner Gray aged 88, widow of Wade Gray was called home to be in the presence of our Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2011. A devout Christian devoted Mother and loving Grandmother.
Irene was born on February 21, 1923 at Old Landing KY in Lee County to William and Ethel Warner Turner. Irene spent her entire adult life in Richmond and Madison County. She was a retired employee of Continental Metal Corporation of Richmond. After retirement she enjoyed working for the Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents William and Ethel Warner Turner, two sons Wayne and Gary Gray. One brother Arthur Turner, two sisters Gladys Turner and Geneva Morrison. Three grandsons Brenton Thomas, Glendon Wade, & Donald Dewayne Gray.
Irene is survived by two daughters Naomi (Tommy) Prather Richmond KY, Teresa (Billy) Combs Beattyville, KY and five sons Doug (Mildred), Randall, Larry, Billy (Paula) Gray all of Richmond and Mike (Sally) Lancaster, KY. A Daughter in Law Bessie Gray Richmond, KY, Two brothers Leonard Turner, Lexington, KY, Arvel (Ruth) Turner Richmond, KY. One sister Mable Spicer Irvine, KY she is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of family and friends.
She was an active member of The Calvary Baptist Church of Richmond. Irene thoroughly enjoyed church activities and the church family.
Funeral services for Irene will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Bobby, Gary Lee, Jerry, Bryan, and Ben Gray, and T. J. Prather Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 P.m. Tuesday September 6, 2011 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Anna Rae Workman
Anna Rae Hilton “Gammy” Workman, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 2, 2011 at The Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility after a long illness.
Anna was born on September 10, 1927 to Garret Raymond and Grace Walker Hilton in Wheelwright, Kentucky. She was a seamstress and a homemaker, who loved her family very much and loved taking care of them. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Heritage Temple Free Will Baptist Church in Ashland, Kentucky.
Anna was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, John Robert Workman, Sr.; one son, John Robert Workman, Jr.; and one brother, James Stewart. Survivors include: a long-time caring caretaker and daughter-in-law, Sally Workman; daughter-in-law, Deborah Wise; two grandsons, Christopher (Davina) Workman and Shawn (Natasha) Workman; one step-grandson, Chad Lewis; two granddaughters, Marla Workman and Shannon Workman; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Workman, John Workman, Vanessa Workman, and Kareyann Workman; four sisters, Mildred (Bill) Kersten, of Michigan, Wilma Frasure, of Ohio, Glena (Rudy) Kogelman, of Michigan, and Jackie (Randal) Stapelton, of Ashland, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation for Anna Rae Workman will be held from 6:00 -8:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home on Barnes Mill Road in Richmond.

John Helton, Sr.
John Helton, Sr., age 64, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at his home in Berea. He was born in Garrard County to the late William and Cynthia Belcher Helton. John was of the Holiness Faith and was a retired employee of the Maintenance Dept. for Allen County, Indiana. He loved to work with wood, electrical work and tinkering.
Mr. Helton is survived by: his son, John Helton, Jr. of Berea; his daughters, Scarlette (Eddie) Marks of McKee, Ky., Melissa Plowman of Berea, Ky.; step children, Marc DeSalvo and Kathleen Schombe of Long Island, N.Y.; sisters, Janie Lake (Robert) of Berea, LouTisha Powell of Berea; brothers, William Helton, Jr. of EauClaire, Michigan, C. Robert Helton (Rebecca) of Richmond; half sisters, Etta Asher (Roscoe) of Leslie County, Edna Johnson (Bennie) of London; grandchildren, Hunter and Charlene Helton, Sarah, Joseph and Benjamin Marks, Kimberly Croucher, Andrew John and Christina Plowman; step grandchildren, Ava and Steven Schombe. 3 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Helton, brother, Bobby Helton; sister, Rose Peters.
Funeral services for Mr. Helton will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Lakes, Rev. Roscoe Asher, Jr. and Rev. Lee Abney officiating. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Randy Lake, Rodney Lake, Wayne Asher, Ronald Peters, Roscoe Asher, and John Helton, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lake, Frank Farr, and Ben Johnson.
Eva Marie Fryer
Eva Marie Fryer passed away on Friday Sept. 2, 2011 at 8:35 pm. Eva was preceded in death by her parents Hiram and Rosie Ingram Gabbard, a sister Goldie Gabbard Fryer and two brothers Preston and Ernest Gabbard, and a grandson Jeremiah Fryer. Eva was married to George Thomas Fryer, and they have 5 children: Thomas (Cindy) Fryer Sr., Charles (Anna) Fryer, Doyle Fryer (Priscilla Wethington), Buffy Fryer-Alcorn (Michael Alcorn), and Brian (Chastity) Fryer. Eva has 13 grandchildren: Crystal Wilson, Delilah Fryer, Amy Durham, Thomas Fryer, Brittany Fryer, Preston Fryer, Cordell Fryer, Wayne Fryer, Samantha Fryer, Makayla Alcorn, Kaitlynn Alcorn, Jessica Fryer, and Jeremiah Fryer, 4 surviving sisters; Rachel Gabbard Richmond, Goldie Gabbard Fryer, Lois Gabbard Short, and Elsey Gabbard Knuckles, and 2 brothers Preston Gabbard and Ernest Gabbard.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Sept. 6, 2011 at 2 pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Bro. Roy Himes, Bro. Cecil Burns and Bro. Jeff Whittemore officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery at Gabbard Town, pallbearers will be Thomas Fryer Sr., Charles Fryer, Doyle Fryer, Brian Fryer, Thomas Fryer Jr., and Doyle Fryer Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Dallas Spires, Cecil Gabbard, Bobby Richmond, Larry Fryer, Troy Grant, and Dustin Fryer. Everett Rogers age 74 passed away on Wednesday Aug. 24, 2011 at his home on 1016 in Berea after a long illness, he is survived by his wife Evelyn Rogers. Everett was born in Jackson County Kentucky to the late Odis and Effie Broughton Rogers, and he was a member of the Baptist faith. Everett was retired and owner of Rogers Roofing and Siding, and he and his son-in-law Paul Howard were the Berea Gospel Singers for many years, and also sung as the Rogers Family with his wife Evelyn, his sister Lavada and late brother-in-law Thomas Joe Blevins. Everett enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, as well as traveling out west with his family.
Everett is survived by his wife Evelyn Broughton Rogers and daughter Wilma (Paul) Howard of Berea, granddaughter Linda (Brett) Parker, and grandsons William Howard and Anthony (Angie) Howard of Berea, three great-grandsons Austin and Jaden Howard and Brandon Parker, a brother Earnest Rogers of Berea, and sisters Tressie Sizemore of Richmond, Lavada Blevins of Rockcastle Co, and Trula Faye Lamb of Berea, and a special friend Leonard Abner of Richmond. Everett was preceded in death by his parents Odis and Effie Rogers, a sister Geraldine Robinson and brother Arthur Rogers.
Funeral services will be Monday Aug. 29, 2011 at 11:00 am at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Slone officiating, pallbearers will be Stephen Blevins Sr., Stephen Blevins Jr., Paul Howard, William Howard, Anthony Howard, Brett Parker, Tyler Parker, Danny Rogers, and Ryan Combs, Honorary pallbearers will be brother and sisters: Earnest Rogers, Tressie Sizemore, Trula Faye Lamb, and Lavada Blevins. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
Russell G. Wyrick
Russell G. Wyrick, born February 27, 1948, departed this world on August 29, 2011 at the age of 63. Russell died with loving care and attention at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. Russell is survived by his wife Linda (Bales) and his daughter Amanda. Eight siblings also survive Russell: Janice (Bruce) McGeorge; David (Becky) Wyrick; Carl (Carolyn) Wyrick; Barbara (Lewis) Gay; Dorsey Wyrick; Randall (Ruthie) Wyrick; Gordon (Zandra) Wyrick and Jeffrey (Jackie) Wyrick. Russell also leaves behind a brother in law Tracy (Kim) Bales, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends who he loved as family. Russell was predeceased by his mother, father, sister, two nieces and one nephew. Russell lived an active and fulfilling life. He valued work, family and friends. Russell retired from the Lexington Fayette-Urban County Fire Department in 1996. Russell continued to work actively until the time of his illness, using his skills in carpentry and home improvement to assist numerous individuals in his community. Russell is also a veteran of the United States Armed Services, having served in Vietnam for 14 months. Russell was an integral part of any community he touched. He was a member of McKee Baptist Church and demonstrated a life of faith and fellowship. Russell also brought a sense of humor and a compassionate heart to his relationships and enjoyed visiting with friends at Gray Hawk Landing.
Funeral service for Russell Wyrick was held 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Maharrey officiating. . Burial followed in the Tyner Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tracy Bales, David, Carl, Dorsey, Randall, Gordon & Jeffrey Wyrick. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anita Carol Agee McDaniel
Anita Carol Agee McDaniel, 49, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011. She was born on June 28, 1962 in Madison County, the daughter of the late William Arnold and Loretta King Agee.
Survivors include her son: John Matthew “Matt” McDaniel (Robyn) of Berea; three brothers: Arnold Dale Agee of Versailles, Alvis Frank Agee of Richmond and William Randall Agee (Marsha) of Berea; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by a brother: Phillip Robbie Agee and a sister, Linda Charlene King.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Agee, Mark Tipton, Jonathon Johnson, Rick Agee, Robert Smith and Warren Gooch.
