Florence Lee Wolfe Croucher, age 93, widow of W. F. Croucher passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Berea Health and Rehabilitation. She was born June 22, 1924 to the late John T. and Vallie Rucker Wolfe in Granger County TN.

Florence was a member of the Pilot Knob Baptist Church and an employee of Parker Seals Company where she retired after 36 years. She also worked as a greeter for Wal-Mart for 21 years retiring at age 87. Continue reading Florence Lee Croucher

Lula Mae Phillips McCollum, age 94, widow of Harley McCollum died Monday, September 18, 2017 at the home of her daughter Theresa McClure. She was born June 25, 1923 to the late Jack and Clara Moore Phillips in Rockcastle County.

She was a member of the Cartersville Holiness Church and as long as she could drive she attended several different churches. While raising her children she helped her husband on the farm, she enjoyed raising a garden and flowers during her free time, she also made quilts many of which she gave away. He attended Shannon Johnson Elementary, Foley Middle School and was a 2015 graduate of Madison Southern High School. Currently he was Junior at Eastern Kentucky University. Most recently he had completed his initial training and was a member of the Berea Volunteer Fire & Rescue. He was a member of the Kirksville Baptist Church. On September 14, 2017, Dallas McGuire age 79, departed this life and entered his eternal home with the Lord. Dallas was born September 7th, 1938 in Jackson County, KY., to the late Ernest and Agnes Stewart McGuire.

James Jesse “Jimmy” Vaughn Jr. age 43, died Monday, September 11, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. A native of Berea he was born December 7, 1973 to James Jesse Vaughn, Sr., and the late Faye Chowning Powell.

Darrell Cain, age 69, widower of Myrtle Bee Rader Cain died Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was born March 7, 1948 in Berea, KY., to the late Everett and Lucy Marie Alexander Cain.

Mr. Cain was a member of the Paint Lick Christian Church, loved to hunt ginseng, treasure hunt with his metal detector, hunt, fish, and trap.
