Berea Fire Department Report 11-9-2018

Update: The Berea Fire Department responded to blaze at 530 Walnut Meadow Road at 2:42 a.m. Friday morning. Berea city firefighters and first responders from the Berea Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad were still on the scene this morning. Traffic on Walnut Meadow Road was slowed considerably, though officers from the Berea Police Department guided motorists through the congestion.

Berea Fire Department Chief Shawn Sandlin said the cause of Friday’s early morning blaze has not been determined. Chief Sandlin said what may have started on the ground floor quickly spread to the upper floor. Fire crews stayed busy this morning, searching for hot spots and removing wreckage.

Original Release: The Berea Fire Department is still on the scene of a fire on Walnut Meadow Road. The building has apartments on the second floor along with the Marcum Auto Sales building attached to the right. There are no details at this time.
