Spotlight Playhouse presents Let Your Hair Down Rapunzel at the Spotlight Playhouse in Berea starting today, September 13, through September 23. This family-friendly musical features three unique casts of students of The Spotlight Acting School, ages 4-11. Tickets are $6 each.
“Rapunzel is a truly delightful show, chock full of fun musical numbers and zany characters,” said Chad Hembree, Executive Director of Spotlight Performing Arts, Inc. “We’re excited to present this famous story with three great casts of our talented acting school students.”
Let Your Hair Down Rapunzel is a fresh, vivacious musical adaptation of the popular tale. Rene Shwartzbuckle sings to her husband, Walt, about her zany obsession for a turnip-like vegetable called “Rapunzel.” After spotting a delectable patch of the plant in Witch Izwitch’s garden, Rene sends Walt to “borrow” some. The irritated witch has her malicious henchmen terrorize Walt. In fear, he promises to give his firstborn child to the witch in exchange for his own freedom. On her 18th birthday, the witch locks Walt’s daughter Rapunzel alone in a tower. An exuberant, amusing rescue attempt begins! Filled with delightful songs like “Just Because You’re Different,” and “Let Your Hair Down,” this show offers fun and frivolity for all ages.
