Roger Wayne Botkins
Roger Wayne Botkins age 80 of Richmond, passed away Friday evening at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Roger was born in Aberdeen, Kentucky to the late Andrew Brown and Margaret Elizabeth Murphy Botkins.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Linda Johnson Botkins.
He was retired from Westinghouse Industries and Berea Community School system.
He is survived by his two daughters, Robin (James) Daugherty and Tina (Charlie) Touratsos; four siblings, Barbara Young, Andrew “Junie” (Katherine) Botkins, Treva Saylor, and Mike (Jean) Botkins; four grandchildren, Sarah Hardy, Charles Touratsos, Tyler Touratsos, and Austin Daugherty; and five great grandchildren, Bentley Bryant, Zane Touratsos, Adelynne Collins, Dakota Bell, and Lillian Muncy.
Private funeral services are being held at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea.
Larry Scott Kofoid
Larry Scott Kofoid Passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Berea, KY. Larry was born Thursday, December 31, 1953.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at Lakes Funeral Home Berea. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 6:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Southgate officiating.
Alan Highley age 71, husband of Marcella Highley, passed away Monday Sept. 10, 2018 at the Terrace in Berea. Alan was born in Mt Sterling KY to the late William and Marie Lucille Crowe Highley.
He was a Geo Technical and Environmental driller and he attended Southland Christian Church.
Alan is survived by his wife Marcella Begley Highley of Berea, his son Brad (Dannette) Highley and his grandchildren: Owen, Judson, Wyatt and Gabrielle Highley.
Funeral services will be Saturday Sept. 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Lakes Funeral Home Berea with Rev. John Ward officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 am Saturday at the funeral home. Alan will be cremated and burial will take place at a later date.

Marica Kay Horn
Marica Kay Dargavell Horn, 61, of Baldwin, passed away Thursday evening, September 13, 2018 at the UK Hospital in Lexington. Kay was born in Madison County on September 30, 1956 and was a loving wife, mother and granny to her entire family.
She attended Madison Central High-School and retired from the logistics department of JM Smucker Company after a couple decades of dedicated service. Kay enjoyed with a passion her garden and loved to work with her flowers. She was a great cook and will be remembered for her “famous” chicken and dumplings.
Survivors include: her children, Chadwick Horn (Tommy Helmick), and Sonica Wade; her boyfriend, Ray Thomas; one sister, Debbie O’Flinn; two grandchildren, Kaytlyn Doan (Dillion) and Derrick “DJ” Wade; one niece, Brandy O’Flinn; her beloved pet Boston Terrier, Angel Baby; as well as a host of other extended family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Floyd Horn (d. 1997); her mother, Roberta Dargavell; and one brother, Jerry Hembree.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Monday, September 17, 2018, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Rev. Mark Condrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Sunday, at the funeral home.
George Wade Crabb
George Wade Crabb, was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Opal Cline Crabb and James A. Crabb.
He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church. He attended high school in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and graduated from Rhodes College in 1960, where he captained their championship tennis team. He earned graduate degrees in history and library science from Peabody College and Vanderbilt University, and worked as head reference librarian at Eastern Kentucky University until his retirement in 1995. He continued to study history through his readings and research. He managed his ancestral farm and home, and tended to his garden faithfully, long after retirement. He remained a competitive tennis player throughout his retirement and competed in his last national tournament at the age of 73.
Survivors include his wife Anne Crabb; two daughters: Margaret Crabb of Richmond and Tassie Katherine Hirschfeld of Norman, OK; a sister Mary Chrismon; cousins: Al and Lucy Crabb, Wade and Carla Crabb, Kathy Stinnett and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM CST Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hwy. 593 McLean County, Kentucky.

Aaron Ray Dargavell
Aaron Ray Dargavell, 36, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Compassionate Care Center. Aaron was born in Madison County on August 28, 1982.
He had worked for AAA Fencing. He enjoyed basketball, playing video games and was an avid Batman collector. His world revolved around his children.
Survivors include: his mother, Leanna Thomas Culton; his father and step-mother: Steve and Kris Dargavell, his wife: Jessica Johnson; his fiancée: Renea Bell; one son: Brandon Dargavell; one daughter: Alexus Dargavell; four brothers: Justin Dargavell and wife Tammy, Erik Dargavell, Matthew Pace and John McKinney and wife Kristy; one sister: Amanda Lamb and husband Shawn; his maternal grandmother: Gladys Widlacki and his mother-in-law: Shannon Johnson.
Aaron was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Charles Thomas and his paternal grandparents: Tom and Hazel Dargavell and his sister: Stephanie Dargavell.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church, 486 Battlefield Memorial Hwy, Richmond with Rev. John Doss officiating. Burial will follow in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 A.M. Friday at the church. Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Dargavell, Erik Dargavell, Justin Dargavell, Marty Dargavell, Johnny Dargavell, Scott Johnson and Kenneth Scott.
Roger A. Didelot
Mr. Roger A. Didelot, age 67 of Richmond, KY. departed this life on Wed. September 12, 2018 at Kenwood Nursing Home in Richmond, KY. He was born on March 13, 1951 in New Albany, Indiana, a son of the late Orlin Leslie Didelot and Mina Johnson Didelot.
Roger loved people as evidenced by his being a Mortician for 18 years, and was an E.R. Nurse in Montgomery, Alabama for 16 years. He was both President and Secretary of the Lions Club and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Roger was of the Baptist faith, and found great joy in reading, watching T.V. and Art.
Those left to celebrate his life are: his life partner, Sandy Wagner of Mt. Vernon, KY; his sons: Robert Ashley Didelot of Richmond, KY; and Jason Matthew Didelot and wife Jenifer of Mt. Vernon, KY.; his grandchildren: Elijah, Isaiah, Abby, Mya, Andrew, Morgan and Hunter. As well as a host of friends and neighbors.
A graveside service for Mr. Roger Didelot will be conducted Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1pm, at Cresthaven Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, KY. with Bro. Joe Bussel officiating.

Chrystal Lynn Fowler
Chrystal Lynn Fowler, age 46, of Peyton Avenue in Irvine passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018, at her home. She was born April 7, 1972 in Rowan County and was the daughter of Lewis and Kay McKinney Maggard.
She was an employee of Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital and had lived in Estill County most of her life.

Kaydi Jo Dawes
Kaydi Jo Dawes, infant daughter of Bryan and Cathy Dawes, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018, at Baptist Health in Richmond.
Survivors in addition to her parents include one brother Kolby Dawes, and her grandparents Roger and Sheree Dawes. She is also survived by the following aunts and uncles who loved her very much: Darrell and Debbie Wright of Carroll County, Jackie Woosley of Irvine, Dino Powell of Irvine, Jeff and Vicki Horn of Ravenna, Beattle and Aimee Ormes of Irvine and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Danny and Betty Powell, William and Aileen Harrison, and Orville and Anna Mae Dawes.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 11 AM at the family farm on Cressy Road.
Mafrey Lamb, age 86, of Ellis Court in Richmond, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Compassionate Care Center following a short illness. She was born June 21, 1932 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Rutherford and Emmer Morris McKinney.
She was a homemaker and member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She had lived in Madison County most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Lamb.

Jewell Montgomery Gabbard was born April 25, 1923 in Jackson County and departed this life Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, being 95 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Green & Nellie Andrew Montgomery.
Jewell is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Boggs of Dayton, OH and by her identical twin Virgie Smith of Gray Hawk. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Steve Gabbard, Michelle Gabbard, Lisa Gillespie and Greg Boggs and by three great grandchildren, Matt Gillespie, Megan Gillespie and Jessica Boggs.
In addition to her parents, Jewell was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Gabbard; her son, Tony Gabbard; her brother, Ralph Montgomery and infant brother, Ray Montgomery.
Jewell was a member of the Gray Hawk Baptist Church.
Funeral service 2:00 PM Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Lakes Funeral Home McKee with Bro. Everett Van Zant and Bro. Ronald Rose officiating. Burial to follow in the Sandlin Cemetery in Gray Hawk.
