The Madison County Sheriff’s Office was called on Saturday, August 11, 2018, around 7:30 a.m. to a non-injury hit and run collision at a residence on Moberly Road.
The collision investigation led Deputy Brian Eaves to Charlie Norris Road where he made contact with Shaun Simpson. Simpson admitted to being the driver of the run vehicle.
Continued investigation led to the seizure of drug paraphernalia, Marijuana, suspected Methamphetamine and additional unspecified controlled substances.
Shaun Simpson, 37 of Richmond, was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of Accident, No Operators License, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree-Drug Unspecified, Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree-Drug Unspecified, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Simpson was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
