Daniel Joseph Presnell
Daniel Joseph Presnell, 77, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Danny was born on March 9, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska, and was the son of Glenn and Lizabeth Gerhling Presnell, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was retired from Phillips Lighting and had taught in the Madison County School System for 20 years. Danny processed and developed game film for EKU football for many years. He was an avid EKU supporter and an “Eternal Colonel”. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Richmond, as well as the Richmond Lions Club, of which he was past president. He was actively involved in the NEA, KEA, KRTA, and many other organizations throughout his career.
Survivors include: his wife: Margaret Burkhead Presnell; two sons, David Presnell (Brenda) and Alan Presnell (Dana), both of Richmond; one daughter, Cindy Parrett, of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Kristyn Presnell, Kevin Presnell, Kameron Presnell, Parker Presnell, Peyton Presnell, Megan Fergie, and Paige Parrett; and two great-grandchildren, Karlie Johnson and Kashlynn Lamb.
Funeral services for Danny Presnell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Richmond, 425 Eastern Bypass, with Pastor Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the Church.
Pallbearers will be Steve King, Bruce Whittaker, Bryan Whittaker, Kevin Presnell, Kenny Chenault, and Wes Napier. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Danny’s Sunday school class at First Baptist, as well as members of the Richmond Lions Club.
