Madison Co. Sheriff’s Office Arrest two for Endangering Welfare of a Minor

ARRESTED

Just before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, Deputy Donovan Nolan was flagged down on Merrick Drive by a person who had witnessed a male child running naked in the roadway. The witness mentioned to Deputy Nolan the child was nearly struck by a vehicle on Merrick Drive.

Deputy Nolan made contact with the child’s mother at her apartment and upon inspection, Deputy Nolan contacted the Cabinet for Health and Family Services due to the deplorable living conditions. Upon recommendations of social services, the child along with six additional children found inside the apartment were removed from the residence.

Krystyn Lawson, the 30-year-old mother of children was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and seven counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

In addition, Shelby Barrett, 18 years old of Richmond was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and seven counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

Lawson and Barrett were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
